Mostly, just innings pitched and earned runs. Anything else you want to take a stab at is fine as well. Any guesses?

I hope he pitches better than this, but I'm guessing

4 IP, 5 ER.

6 IP, 4 ER. the power of positive thinking!

Is there anyone who wouldn't take that for Sunday?

I predict 6ER in 5 innings and this not being his only start:thumbdown

Lohse finally figures out what he had been doing wrong while with the Twins.

I think he'll be decent, 5 2/3 3 ER. I think he'll be okay, not great, but okay moving from the AL to NL.

He strikes out 28 batters... 1 batter strikes out but reaches firstbase on the wild pitch/passed ball.

New league and he has good stuff. I think he will be decent for alittle while.

6 and 2/3, 3 ER.

5IP, 4R, 2ER, 3BB, 3K's 90 pitches. Leave the game after his third walk puts runners at 1st and 2nd with Mcann coming up, Narron brings in Rheal, he gets Mcann to bounce into a double play. Reds are down 4-3 at this point.....should I go on?

I believe it would be amazing if he did any better than Joe Mays

Me!! That won't be good enough to beat Reds killer John Smoltz.

6 1/3 5 ER

To keep us in the game, I think he is going to have to go longer and allow fewer runs. Bronson and Harang both pitched shorter than their norm so the pen could use a break. It would be great if Lohse could pitch 7 innings and bridge the gap to Bray and Guardado. We are in trouble in the long run if we have to throw Majewski and Cormier out there nearly every day. They need some rest.

We could use Loshe for 3/4/5 innings and Standridge can come in and get us to the 8/9th

Good point, totally forgot about standridge. On that note, it boggles my mind how Narron continues to use Majewski over Jason. Other than the home run he gave up to Fielder in Milwaukee, Standridge has been great.

6 1/3 4 runs 2 earned... I think the change of scenery will do him good in the long run, but it might take him a little time to get acclamated

I just can't get overly excited about Lohse's start. I believe he bombs in a bad way: 3 1/3 IP, 7 hits, 5 ER, 1 K and 3 BB.

Maybe wishful thinking:

I think that would be a good start for Lohse, but I won't take it. Not with Smoltz pitching against. He'll need to pitch a great game to win. I'd set the over/under for runs scored for us at 2.5 with Smoltz pitching. Hopefully, we'll go over.

Narron leaves him out there for 5 IP so he can be eligible for the win, alas, he exits

I'll take 1/3 of an inning and 8 runs if the Reds win.

But this guy has better stuff than Joe Mays.

I don't know what his problem has been in Minny. Some guys need a change of scenery, some guys just stink. Time to see which one we got.

Just keep them in the game....that's all I ask.

With Smoltz the opposing pitcher, it's hard to say what that means.

Other than the long ball allowed to Andruw Jones He has looked pretty sharp, why all the haters?

I don't thiink anyone thought he'd pitch this well! The guy is lights out beside the home run..

He did have a large strike zone to work with today, however. But Smoltz had that same strike zone, and has let up 4 runs over 6 so far...

I was extremely impressed by his performance today. It was way above my expectations. This also has further strengthened my confidence in Wanye's scouting abilities. The change of scenery should do Lohse a lot of good. He's going to have to build his stamina back up since he's been in the pen for so long in Minny, but for a back of the rotation guy to come out and give a solid 5-6 innings an outing is A-Okay with me.

But it's also good to keep in the perspective that it's only one start. Although it's highly encouraging that it was against a team that has been struggling but still putting up a lot of runs.

The AL has better players right now and coming to a new league he should have a nice grace period. He could be servicable for the rest of the season.
