If Merker's healthy I think he could help. Weathers has an era of 1.68 since the all star break and has only given up 5 hits in 11.1 innings.

Does Standridge have options to be sent down to Louisville until the September callups?

standridge can go back down, but if he does, we'll have no long guy. I think either the daily one goes on the DL or else Jason gets back down.

On Sept.1 they will all be with Reds (expanded roster). Until then, they will juggle. Probably want Merck to rehab to kill some of that time. If he's ready, then Standridge may go for awhile. But at this point it is just a juggling game until 9/1.

Mercker is left out right now. I think Standridge is more valuable in long relief than Mercker would be in middle relief. Merck has fallen to the 4rd best LH arm available out there.

I would rather see Mercker in there than Cormier.

My guess is Guardado gets DL'd. You really don't want to go with four lefties.

But something HAS GOT to be done with Majewski. He's killing this team.

Do we know that Mercker's coming back? Just wondering.

Majewski does have options left and should be sent down. Even if Eddie ends up going on the DL, bring Shackelford back up.

Majewski needs to go on the DL, not AAA.

He's not a really good reliever, but he doesn't suck. The Nats overused him.

They won't send Majewski down because of the trade.I myself would send him down whether he had options or not.I think the guy is damaged goods and Bowdon knew it.
just an opinion.

He's got a dead arm right now, I agree that he needs to go on the DL.

He is a good reliever, has been in the past, certainly is not right now.

What happens if both Mercker and Belisle are ready before September? I think it's safe to say that Standridge would be sent down, but then what?

I thought Standridge doesn't have any options?

Standridge is out of options and would have to clear waivers, something I don't think he would do right now.

I think Standridge is sent out on this one. His last 2 outtings he has walked 2 guys I think?? He is the one out. If Majeski doesn't get going in the right direction Belisle will be put back on the team off the DL and Maj. will be sent packing for KY.

Well we now have the answer to this question.

Mercker and Franklin are in: Majewski and Standridge are DL'd.

I was still expecting Merker to do a short stent in rehab. Not sure how smart it is to go from DL to in the line of fire during a pennant race.
