That lineup is more like it, with the exception of the black hole at SS and P.

fearofpopvol1
08-06-2006, 12:49 PM
I really like that lineup a lot. Would rather see Castro at SS (especially after he had a pretty good day yesterday), but it's fine. I guess Freel got pretty banged up on Friday, huh.

DropDocK
08-06-2006, 01:05 PM
The medical report said Freel could go, if needed. Wouldn't hurt to rest him one more day with the Cards coming to town. I was at the game friday and the sliding catch of the foul ball was awesome. Castro should be at SS more often instead of Clayton, I agree.

Loshe looked good against Aybar and Giles. Got ahead of Edgar and gave up a line drive single, but so far his movement and placement looks good so far. We'll see how that goes. Looks like the ump is tight again today

08-06-2006, 01:23 PM
Uh oh. Same ol stuff, I don't get why you challenge one of the couple guys in the lineup that can hurt you. I just do not understand, but whatever, that's just me. I know you don't want to put runners at first and second but I also don't think I'd challenge Andruw with something down the middle. One freaking mistake and we're down 2-0 to a hall of famer, perfect

I will still stick with the fact that Kyle's stuff looks great today. It's just a matter of putting the stuff together and pitching a smart/good game, the stuff isn't the question here

Smoltz is not missing the bats, that's for sure. He didn't look very good that inning. Reds just hit a lot of rockets that found bats. It's just a matter of if he gets settled down or keeps throwing up grapefruits

If it means he's getting better for Sept. and October, it's better than risking an injury that will hurt us later.

wojo1025
08-06-2006, 01:41 PM
1-2-3 go the Bravos. Hal and Marty talking about Mercker not being happy about doing a rehab start and trying to figure out what to do with Claussen when the inning came to an end. Brandon is going to cause some problems. He is getting smacked around in the minors, we do not need him on this roster until he's 100% healthy. I am still trying to figure out what the Reds are going to do when Kent and Belisle are ready to come off the DL, who do you get rid of?

ThornWithin81

I can agree with that.

All things considered, Bray looks like he can give us a decent number of saves down the stretch, if Eddie needs time.

08-06-2006, 01:54 PM
Lohse certainly has a live arm. This is the first time I've seen him pitch, and now can see why Krivsky thought he could help this staff. His ball moves a good bit, and he has excellent velocity.

Andruw Jones does that to a lot of pitchers.

Win or lose today, I feel better about picking up Kyle Lohse. I think he's an upgrade over what we've had out there in the #5 hole!

That's just a little extreme, there were other players involved in the trade. You don't DFA a pitcher that young who has put up good numbers up to this point. Sending him to AAA to work on his game is definitely an option, but giving up on him would just be very irresponsible.

You know what, if we made the playoffs in the last ELEVEN YEARS, you would chalk this up as a fluke but this crap happens EVERY YEAR. I guess the fans that booed Majeski off the field aren't fans either. Yeah wonder why the house is usually empty, when teams play like this, they should refund you your money on the way out. I have no problems with fans booing a player after a bad performance... that's something that comes with the job, but I've watched you and a few others on this board condemn the entire team one minute, then praise them the next as soon as the lead is back. I can understand being negative from time to time, but be consistent with it at least.

If you do not think this team is better than last years, you are sadly mistaken. If you do not think this team is better then the year before that, you are sadly mistaken. Why do you bother to watch if this team makes you so miserable? I don't know if you are aware of it, but teams do lose games from time to time, I know it's a shock, but it happens. Because I'm critisizing what this team does, it means I'm a fair weather fan? Just because I don't enjoy taking crap and calling it ice cream doesn't mean I'm not a fan. We're in position for a playoff team right NOW. If we don't make the playoffs after essentially being in that position for the first what 4 months of this year, I don't care what expectations are .. thats a disappointing season. We've finished 2/3 of the season and are in a playoff race, if we can't finish the final 1/3 its a wasted year. It's not going to get any easier in the future. If you can't pick it up now with 2 months left, you wait until next April to get another opportunity. There's no excuse for this, we were in great position, and as a major Krivsky backer he did majorly overpay for this bullpen though and basically has put the season in major trouble.

Re: Tonight's lineup EE at third and Rich at 2nd

Re: Tonight's lineup EE at third and Rich at 2nd

I would make a guess we have had mostly HR hitters with a high amount of strikeouts, who can't hit a moving ball if their life depended on it.

People like you are what is wrong with this team. The fan support they get is a joke for the most part. Maybe it's because you listen to Marty too much and he's the same way.
