How bad is Edmonds really hurt?

Post concussion syndrome has ended the career of many athletes. Edmonds has hurt himself running into so many walls that it looks like it's starting to catch up to him. What happens to the Cardinals if he's out for a significant amount of time? The division is there for the Reds to take. Do they?

With how inconsistent the Cardinals have been this year when Edmonds has been healthy, I can't help but think it would be a very big loss if he's out for an extended period of time.

Fortunately, Chris Duncan's emergence has really sparked their offense a bit, but they need other guys to produce more often.
