Not sure what you're saying...Deno PH for the #8, which was the pitcher at the time. After Dunn batted, Deno went to left, the pitcher went to Dunn's spot. He was then double switched out, Valentin now batting 2nd.

Yep. We were looking at either another double switch, or take your pick of Valentin, LaRue, or Hollandsworth pinch hitting for Schoeneweis.

Umm...probably not though. The game would have been over had Schoeneweis stayed in the game. Can't fault Narron for this one.

And has looked like a Babe Ruth league player in the process. It's time he get's a good couple days off. He is lunging at everything and his footwork is completely fouled up. He had Clayton bunting with a man at second and no one out earlier. Which is okay, I guess, but he then left the bunt sign on with two strikes. Clayton fouled out.

He also pulled Dunn on a double switch in extras. Adam was 4-6.

I'm sure some could question a few of his bullpen moves, but the old "revolving door of poop" doesn't contain a hammer.

all these Dodgers RHPs and Jerry took all the lefties out(save one)

Had to do all those double switches...

At least we haven't seen Franklin tonight. That's one thing Narron did that impressed me.

I'm glad that Franklin guy is around.

Little managed circles around Narron tonight. A 16 inning game and Grady managed not to pitch his relievers he didn't want out there. Even managed to slip Lowe in there who toyed with the Reds.

Can we convene a brainstorming session to figure out what the hell goes on with this team when they head out to the left coast?

Krivsky's man. Makes you wonder what is going on. Emasculated offense and pitchers no better than you had. I hope it's a work in process. I pray that is so, but just seconds after planning to go to bed...

Ignore what I said. It's just so frustrating. I don't know what is worse. Knowing you'e bad or thinking you aren't and learning you're are.

Think about it.

They're out enjoying the sites and good eats & drinks. Plus the parks are big and the weather is cooler (to paraphrase WOY)

Franklin must have been pretty tired after throwing that 1 pitch.
He should get the rest of the season off to rest up for when hes pitching for another team next year.

five game losing streak, how did that happen.

No matter how you slice it, this team still can't outscore it's own pitching staff. The last two seasons the Reds scored enough runs that league average pitching would have put them over the top. They no longer have that offense.

I didn't agree with your opinions concerning the double switches tonight, but I agree 100% with this. I said earlier in the thread that tomorrows game would be won by tonights bullpen management. I stand by that.

This is why i truly dread trips to the west coast.
If said all year this club had no playoff hopes - but I always had a glimmer of hope burning at the corner of my mind.
That candle officially burned out for me this year. We'll get them next year.

Derrick Lowe would look good at GABP with that "heavy" sinker he was throwing last night. I was real impressed with the way he pitched. No way anyone was going to hit one of those out of the ballpark.

I've never seen a pitching staff that can give up so many homeruns. The Reds need a couple of guys that can keep it in the park.
