I said this 2 weeks ago and you would have thought I questioned God. Tell Harrang to get over it and pitch. Ross will start EVERYGAME.

This line-up has no chance when 1/3 of it will not get a hit. 7,8,9.

The whole Bengals thing was really striking to me this past Monday. I am not a Cincy guy--no ties to the area, and for the two of you who don't know, I am a Redskins fan, not a Bengals fan. So this observation comes w/o bias.

I saw that sellout crowd for a pre-season game the other night and I saw the graphic that all of their games are sold out. But more importantly, I "felt" that crowd. I "felt" the excitement from my couch. That is a fanbase that really cares right now.

Clearly, the Reds are second fiddle to pre-season football in Cincy despite the "playoff race." Our crowds are still so-so and sometimes worse. I still believe Cincy has great baseball fans, but saying the Bengals have surpassed them is quite the understatement.

And this in a year where the Reds are "overachieving." Castellini and company have more competition right now than the other teams in the NL.

In today's NFL, a couple of bad breaks, freak play can put you in a hole fast. Running it up on teams and showing a bunch of your playbook this early is dangerous. The Bengals are already getting a "thug rep" under Lewis, that doesn't go down well with other franchises.

I agree with that. However, Cast has a lot of wounds to heal from the Strike, and Lindner/Allen's con job. At least he realizes that he has to put a winning team on the field (or at least he says that, time will tell what he actually does about it, but I'm hopeful).

Stated by yourself ;)

The Bengals won the division last season, reached the playoffs, and many people really believe we'd have gone deep in the playoffs if it wasn't for Palmer's knee injury. This season the team is arguably better, and despite a very tough schedule, reaching the playoffs this season is a complete expectation, and many fans believe this team could reach and win the Super Bowl.

Put the Reds in that same situation, and I think you'd feel a similar excitement. For the Reds, it would be the equivalent of winning a division one season with 90+ wins, having a freak injury happen to an important player and then losing in the NLDS, but coming back next season with an expectation to win 100 games, grab an NL Pennant and go for a World Series.

In the situations the benefit their strengths. The starters are starters for a reason, and the bench rotation guys, Nickle/Dime backs, special team specialists are in those positions for a reason.

Some guys only play special teams, and unlike previous Bengals coaches, Marvin Lewis knows the importance of guys like that. He also often time uses special teams play on if guys even make the team.

2003 - Marvin Lewis was named the head choach of the Cincinnati Bengals...

When the season started and got going... No one thought he'd be where he was... NO ONE... He finished 8-8 with a team that has been known to be horrible.

I hope he doesn't see customers

I see customers. It's just that most of them faint upon seeing me.

Tends to happen when people see one of the seven wonders of the world. Ya know?

Well, the Astros won, so they'll get closer to us (probably) :(

Harang doesn't have it tonight and the bullpen is gassed. I'll stick it out, but I don't have much hope.

I think Harang is going to stay in there. The bullpen is worn out from perserving the tie so Franklin could blow it last night.

Harang is the true ace.

He's not pitched bad. Had bad defense. Why keep him out there. Maddux is sodomizing us tonight. He's giving it to us at both ends. Pitching and hitting.

Are going to be taking bets on when the next time the Reds win a game?

Still, 12 baserunners in 6 innings isn't good, Harang needed to really step up and he didn't. The last 2 games, he has given up 19 hits.

If we blow against the Padres at their place, K won't be able to give away all those extra hotdogs they have bought for the next home series:laugh:

1/2 price tickets may not even get people there.

They'll be anxiously awaiting Sunday, September 10, 2006...1pm and every bar in town will be filled, while GABP will be rather empty.

His manager should stop letting him and Arroyo throw about 120 pitches every game.
