kim allows one run in the first and his ERA goes down...not a good sign

Danny Serafini
09-06-2006, 12:44 PM
You know you've had a tough time when you pitch an inning, give up a run and your ERA drops by over a point.

Bah! I'm seconds too slow!

texasdave
09-06-2006, 12:45 PM
how sad is it when you pull your infield in to cut off the run at the plate.....with one out in the first...geez

texasdave
09-06-2006, 12:56 PM
two fly outs and a laser to encarnacion and the giants are down in the top of the second.....i thought this kim guy was a ground ball pitcher...only one grounder in 8 batters so far......

jesusfan
09-06-2006, 12:57 PM
I dont know... but Narron talked like the organization was VERY high on him, this makes no sense however, you can't be that good with a 5.10 ERA in AAA.

texasdave
09-06-2006, 01:05 PM
dunn leads off the second with a walk but nothing comes of it. the giants pitcher must be hard to read because the radar gun i think tops out about 91 with him. but so far a lot of late swings

I had a funny feeling before this game started that this Sanchez guy might give the Reds more than they can handle for some reason.

crazybob60
09-06-2006, 01:12 PM
we haven't had a bunch of come from behind victories here lately, not even by one run....we need to get some, especially this game much like we were doing at the beginning of the season when it seems like every game we came back and at least made it close or won it.

ochoa30

jesusfan
09-06-2006, 01:16 PM
We can't even get 5 starters and other teams come up with some STUD out of nowhere when one starter goes down... It's frustrating!

ochoa30
09-06-2006, 01:16 PM
he is a giants top prospect, this really isnt a surprise to me

That's exactly whats wrong with this team... He's a player's manager, which is good sometimes but not when your team is so loose they're on the verge of not caring!

Kim really isn't having a bad day, it was just a depressing start. 2 runs in 4 innings isn't horrible, and he's yet to walk a batter. Could be worse.

bradmu

The fact that this team cannot buy a timely hit in scoring opportunities, yet can easily scrounge up a groundball dp with bases loaded to kill a rally. Thats why we have lost so many lately. The chances have been there most of the time. we just can't capitalize off them.

Last night, we got lucky. We left the Bases loaded twice, and squandered numerous other scoring chances. Should have been 7-0. Lucky for us, Bronson was on his game or else we'd have lost last night too.

I know someone mentioned this earlier..but how is Clayton getting put in this lineup still? When he and Larue play....its like having 3 pitchers in the lineup.

If you want defense, how is Castro not getting some spot starts in Aurillia's place? Juan isn't exactly a slugger, but he seems to have somewhat of a clue when he's at the plate.

Jerry didn't give this team a chance to win today. You can't tell me that Hatte couldn't have done any less than Clayton and Hollands worth than Deno. Question will Krivs and Cast decide to eat Jerry's extension next year considering the recent demise of the Reds? I mean really how much of an improvement has Jerry been than Miley? I don't think much and if left in place next year their records will be very similar.

It's almost like they started today arleady down a few runs. I knew we were in for it when I saw that line up. Hattey's bat even lefty vs. lefty is better the RC vs. anybody.

if we didn't need more depressing news, The Nationals were 1 out away from getting out of a 2 on no out jam against the cardinals, and just gave up a 3 run homer...Cards now up 3-1 in the middle of 6. Why can't we get a timely hit?

I know it seems like a new concept since we never get them...I usually think of a timely hit as one with RISP, a 2 out run producing hit, a late inning hit to keep your team in a game. Something along that lines.
