Jefferson24
09-12-2006, 07:22 PM

mound_patrol
09-12-2006, 08:07 PM
everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I think this lineup needs a guy like him in it. But I think his placement in the lineup is aweful. Dunn should be in the three hole so that he has some protection. Especially now that our offense is depleted

jesusfan
09-12-2006, 08:08 PM
Gonzalez bloops a single into shallow center..

mth123
09-12-2006, 08:26 PM
Hopper plays a good OF. He runs to a spot behind where the ball will fall and then he has his momentum going back toward the IF before catching the ball. Most guys these days trot over and catch it on the run. He's caught two long flys tonight that way.

Jefferson24
09-12-2006, 08:27 PM
Time for some more runs. Maybe Milton walks again. I bet that doesn't happen.

jesusfan
09-12-2006, 08:27 PM

Well after I compliment Hopper he didn't back-up that play. Chris Welsh pointed it out. I love getting Milton out early, but hate the choice of Franklin. He seems to be pitching ok though.

jesusfan
09-12-2006, 08:40 PM

jesusfan
09-12-2006, 08:43 PM

Big Klu
09-12-2006, 08:51 PM
I had to leave for a few minutes. Why was Milton taken out?

He was lifted for a pinch-hitter to lead off the fifth. No other reason that I could determine. (What makes it even stranger is that I don't mind Milton hitting for himself, especially leading off when the team already has a lead.)

Jefferson24
09-12-2006, 08:52 PM
Every game needs played like it's thelast game of the season and your tied for the lead. We can not afford to lose! Narron doesn't seem to get it.

Yah, that sucks. At this point, you gotta be aggressive and try to score there. Chances of scoring probably aren't that great because it wasn't deep, but the chances of getting a hit or scoring after that aren't very good either.

That would be 2 times a runner was on 3rd with less than 2 outs tonight without scoring. Just get a stinkin flyball. Not capitalizing on these situations is killing this team.

I cant believe the biggest game to this point is put in franklins hands, how dumb can narron be, just above retardation!

Why are you surprised? In the biggest game of the season up until that point, Narron left Franklin in to face Duncan out in StL. He's consistent, just consistently terrible. This has honestly been the worst managing performance I have seen in quite some time.

Ah the Jerry Narron factor. Get a lead in a big game. No worry's Jerry Narron will do something to screw it up. To paraphrase Dave Bristol. If the game goes long enough, Jerry Narron will find a way to lose it.

Narron seems to be trying to lose. I have defended him a lot this year and said that in-game moves were a minor part of his job. But Narron really seems to be trying to lose. I think he has plans for October and doesn't want to be bothered with the playoffs.

I guess the scouting report on the Red has not changed much. FB away, FB away, Breaking ball away and FB away. Only change 1 pitch in sequence to each batter per at bat. If you throw a FB in, you will be fined $500.

Hitters 6,7,8 substitue an extra breaking ball for a FB on any count.

It's a shame to see these guys continue to resist any type of adjustment.
