Ryan Freel lined out to second.

Brandon Phillips grounded back to the pitcher.

Adam Dunn struck out.

Bottom of the 1st coming up.

Three outs on 10 pitches. Phillips swung first pitch. Why do that when they have never seen this kid before?

Half the pitches were to Dunn striking out.....

Craig Biggio singles sharply to center.

redsfan30

Mike Lamb hits into a 6-4-3 double play.

2 out.

redsfan30
09-19-2006, 08:13 PM
Lance Berkman bloops a single to left.

redsfan30
09-19-2006, 08:17 PM
Luke Scott hits one deep to left center field, Freel came a LONG way, made a diving attempt but could not get it and it goes for a run scoring triple.

1-0 Astros.

Phillips looks to be hurt on the play....

redsfan30
09-19-2006, 08:19 PM
Phillips tried to shorthop the throw back from the outfield and it came up and got him in the face. Looks like he's dazed enough that he's going to come out of the game.

Rey Olmedo is the new second baseman.

Matt700wlw
09-19-2006, 08:19 PM
That ball hit Phillips in the face, I think....

Olmedo will take over at second...

I think so too. I really think the pressure of the race has screwed with their heads. Guys are trying to do too much and are getting themselves out.

Does anyone here think Dunn will get to his 100,100,100 mark again this year? He still needs 5 more runs scored, and 9 RBI's I believe.

I think he'll hit a couple 3 run bombs when they are involved in a meaningless blowout game and get there. But the way he's going, he might not get another Run Batted in this season.

They amended that; it actually hit the bone just above the eye (supraorbital? long time since I took human anatomy). It was not bleeding but it was swelling rapidly. He did appear a bit dazed. He could easily have a mild concussion.

And yes, he sat on the ground for a while right after it happened.

Anyone remember when Sean Casey's eye socket was broken with a ball off the bat? It was pretty awful... and freaky too.

"They"? Pitcher, single handedly. And I don't see anything funny about it if it happens.

Why not let Aaron get the last out? Yeah, it looked like he was getting tired... but I doubt he'd be this bad.

Two reasons.

First, Berkman was the hitter. You need to swing him around to hit righty. He is virtually unstoppable from the left side, particularly against the Reds.

Second, Schoenweis has been excellent. Pretty sure Narron didn't expect a bad outing.
