I'll start just so there is one.

Cubs

Pierre CF
Theriot 2B
Ramirez 3B
Murton LF
Pagan RF
Mabry 1B
Blanco C
Cedeno SS
Zambrano P

Reds
Wise CF
Hatte 1B
EE 3B
Dunn LF
Valentin C
Holly RF
Phillips SS
Olmedo 2B
Lohse P

Murton in LF batting 4th for CHI. See - Power guys in the OF are easy to find! Lets trade Dunn. (This sarcastic remark comes from listening to WLW announcer just say, and this is not a direct quote, "Trade Dunn. Even for less value. Productive OF is easy to fill." Tell it to the Cubs. Better be overwhelmed IMO. :mooner: )

We have a weather window....however, the field is a wreck right now.

It looks like they will play, but the game will probably not start on time.

The grounds crew better get working :D

UPDATE:

Amazingly...this thing may start at 6:15...

I'm in shock....

I honestly can't understand what Narron thinks they are gaining by playing dewayne wise and giving him 5 ab's.

I honestly can't understand what Narron thinks they are gaining by playing dewayne wise and giving him 5 ab's.

I guess you wouldn't call it a Wise decision?

He said that? Come on, Cutman.

If they're going to trade him, I want a good return

09-23-2006, 05:56 PM
No Denorfia? He has to either be hurt or essentially gone (trade already agreed to) because this is ridiculous. We play Wise and Holly over him... What does management know about him that we don't?

Maybe that righty hitters, at Deno's level, can't hit Zambrano.

mth123
09-23-2006, 06:21 PM
Pierre doubles. I probably won't do PBP all night.

mth123
09-23-2006, 06:23 PM
Theriot bunts and Valentin throws it away. Pierre scores. Theriot to 2B I presume.

Matt700wlw

Matt700wlw
09-23-2006, 06:24 PM

Gallen5862
09-23-2006, 06:25 PM

Zambrano GO to Hat.

Gallen5862

mth123

Pierre SB.

Gallen5862

09-23-2006, 06:46 PM
Theriot GO back to Lohse.

jesusfan
09-23-2006, 06:47 PM

Falls City Beer
09-23-2006, 06:47 PM
Pierre would look good in a Reds uniform.

For a team all of a sudden starving for both power and OBP, I'd say Pierre is the last thing the Reds need.

mth123
09-23-2006, 06:48 PM
For a team all of a sudden starving for both power and OBP, I'd say Pierre is the last thing the Reds need.

09-23-2006, 06:51 PM
Javy FO 8.

Gallen5862
09-23-2006, 06:51 PM
He would be better than Hollandsworth and Wise. Junior Dunn and Pierre in the outfield with Freel and Deno in the mix. That would boost the roster and Pierre would help the team speed.

Gallen5862
09-23-2006, 06:52 PM
Hollandsworth with a single.

Gallen5862
09-23-2006, 06:53 PM

09-23-2006, 06:54 PM
I'm thinking Brandon Phillips might like this SS thing.

jesusfan
09-23-2006, 06:55 PM
I would rather take a chance on the younger Coco Crisp for alot cheaper... Outfield of Dunn, Coco, Jr (Right Field), Freel goes to 2nd along with Rich, Phillips @ SS... We would definitely have much better speed...

mth123
09-23-2006, 06:55 PM
Lohse GO to SS. Olmedo to 2B.

mth123

Mercifully...that disaster is over.

If the Reds want to finish the year at .500 or better...they can only lose 2 more games.

Not happening.

I think Narron should be fired because this team as quit the final month of the season they should be ashamed of themselves it is a joke

I was there tonight. Abysmal does not even do justice to it. Olmedo was so nonchalant on his two errors, Phillips gets picked off down 6 runs. No need to go any further.

The only good thing about this game was that my girlfriend got to see me blow her a kiss on WGN and she is down in Virginia. If you saw the dummy in the 9th inning waving and blowing a kiss or 2 in the 9th inning behind home plate, that was me.

Just got back from the game and it was just as bad in person. Way too much blue at the ballpark. The only good thing was that for a few innings I was with some bloggers, i.e., Red Hot Mama and Reds Reporter and others - made the disaster more digestible.

FYI - Drew Stubbs was at the ballpark with his family [was announced on the scoreboard]. Some Bengals signs in the Moon Deck: "Who Dey!" "381-JERK on Pittsburgh", and "CJs Got Your PJs Goodnight". :)

Just got home from the game. What a sad, sad, sad display. I want my money, 2.5 hours and dignity back for having to endure that steaming pile of a game.

Definately a lot of people in Cubs attire. Also, they were significantly more vocal than the Cincy fans.

It was funny to watch Zambrano get visibly upset when he gave up the 4 runs. I've seen him get mad on TV but you could actually tell from the stands that he was torked. He settled down after that was was on target the rest of the game. He was still throwing in the mid 90's after 90+ pitches.

The errors. Ugggggghhhhhhh. Olmedo looked horrible...absoultley horrible. Wise's error was pretty ugly also. Philips was almost understandable. Javy and EE just made bad decisions (should not have thrown). After all this talk about good defense and "playing the game the right way" all season you have to wonder what they've actually been doing to improve in that area.

Loshe - horrible. Bray got destroyed. Standridge looked decent. Majeswki actually looked better (but he wasn't in for long I don't think). I know I'm forgetting someone(s).

The only redeeming factor for a dreadfull game is that I came home with a foul ball. Got lucky on a werid ricochet and it came right at us. My last foul ball was in 1980 so it's been quite a dry spell.

They were showing on TV that he was kind of upset by Phillips HR Trot. Later when he struck Phillips out he made the same movements when walking of the mound. the leaning to the left when crossing 2B with his left Arm held bent and close to his body. Zambrano did the same move after the K later in the game.

Phillips always does that if I recall, but Zambrano took it personally.

That sounds about right. Section 220 I think it was.

My father was wearing a tan jacket with a reds cap. I was in a black jacket with a reds cap. How in the world did you know that? (paranoid meter on the rise). :)

The ball hit in the mezzinine infield seats which were to our left and higher than we are. The ball hit roughly 30' to the left of us and bounced right at us. My father, god bless him, put his body in front of the ball and it bounced off his gut and it dropped right in front of him. Actually at 64 years old he fielded it better than several Reds players tonight.

I have to be honest, I was like a kid in a candy store when he handed the ball to me. I don't know what it is about snagging a foul ball but even at 34 it was a total thrill. That moment reminded me of all the good times of watching baseball with my father.

Yea, totally crazy. I kept watching it expecting it to bounce forward, not sideways.

Were you at the game or we on the jumbotron? Did my jeans make my butt look big?

I work with Red Hot Mama's husband.I'm pretty sure that's who was with her tonight (the "crack technical staff" was how he introduced himself at Dewey's). Really nice and funny too! RHM asked me at the game if I had any aspirin or ibuprofin because he had a headache...[didn't we all?]... but all I had was Midol (w/ibuprofin). He declined said that he didn't feel bloated! I told him that this Midol wouldn't have helped if he did!;)

BP always looks as if he's about ready to fall over trotting around the first and second bases.

The Cubs fans have more training in how to root for your team in a meaningless game. They have had years and years of losing to prepare for this 90+ loss season, and they are showing that its paying off. Their fans were definitely more prepared for this game.
