I think they are trying to top their mark of 6 errors in a game. if so, they are off to a great start with 2 so far.

Amazingly I was about to post the exact same thing. This is awful to watch. You have players all over the field that can't catch the ball. Dunn just overthrows the cutoff man which simply takes away the point of throwing it TO THE CUT OFF MAN. This is just not acceptable. It seems like the team is 'going through the motions' these days. Sad finish to a fun season

They just got done commenting on how having a runner at 3B makes it tougher on the Reds because they can score easier.

How can a team not hit a pitcher whose fast ball doesn't touch 90 and who doesn't have much of a breaking pitch? If the Reds' offensive display here in September is a preview of what we can expect in 2007 it's gonna be a lonngggggg season.

You ain't kidding. Maybe they are just fatigued and mentally drained. Whatever it is, I sure hope the players who can hit show up next year at spring training.

Another pathetic offensive attempt by the Reds in the 5th. It has gotten to the point where I am surprised when the Reds score. =(

texasdave

Speaking of Wade Miller, the Houston Astros in a three-year span either signed as a free agent or drafted this fivesome of pitchers:

Johann Santana - best pitcher in baseball.
Roy Oswalt - stud.
Wade Miller - horse until he got injured.
Tim Redding - great stuff, head case.
Carlos Hernandez - maybe the best of the bunch but hurt his pitching shoulder sliding head first against the Reds.

That rotation would have won Houston a ton of games. But it also points out the distance between untapped and realized potential.

And remember that other than Griffey out in RF instead of Hollandsworth (and switching positions for Aurilia and Phillips) there is a chance that this is next year's starting lineup out there.

That was pitiful...again. Why wouldn't you pinch hit for Dunn in that situation? Everyone at the park and everyone watching on WGN knew that Dunn was a strike out waiting to happen. He hasn't hit all month. And it doesn't matter how many runs he created earlier in the season. This isn't April. And Narron should have managed accordingly.

If everyone is wanting to pinch-hit for him in a 4-2 game with 2 men on, I ask once again: Why do we need this guy, especially for 10+ Million per year!!!! We need to get rid of Dunn soon, as in Winter Meetings soon.

Dunn's recent play should be enough to convince ownership to move him next year. I would much rather have a 20 hr guy that bats .280 than Dunn with the low average and the mountin load of K's.

I agree, I have said that for atleast a season and a half now, most people think I'm crazy, but I don't see the point in having a 45 HR guy, hitting .235 and about .150 with RISP. I would much rather have 9 Rich Aurilia, opposed to 9 Adam Dunn's... We need to trade Dunn, not for just CRAP, but we could get some good young players in return, I would even sign Luis Gonzalez to replace Dunn for 1-2 years....

It's gotta be the "surprise" factor. No one expected or prepared for a potential Jr. AB. Therefore Griffey had the advantage.

When you aren't prepared, you're gonna get burned. :D

In the last two nights, Royce Clayton has had two great ABs and he probably saved a gapper by his leaping catch in the 9th inning today. Nice job Royce

Marty was at a loss for words almost.

I watched the highlight of it on reds.com and Junior smiles and it looked to me like he pointed towards the booth. I don't think there is any secret there is definitely mutual respect between Marty and Junior. You can tell by how Marty talks about him that he is a fan of Junior, maybe moreso the person than anything else. It seems that everybody that works with him or spends time around him comes away really liking Junior. To me, that says alot. Not to mention he's great and a First Ballot Hall of Famer.
