It is amazing that when winning teams pick up retreads they tend to perform better , even Weaver coaxed a few scoreless innings today.

Ya he dropped his ERA all the way down to Milton territory with the Cards!

That was basically due to a reversal of fortunes. He's been basically the same pitcher for 3 straight years, with luck being the difference. It has little to do with the quality of the team around him (excluding fielding).

it is always so funny to me how a player, can have a bad stretch or season and he's "washed up, done,finished" yet he has a decent stretch or season and it's "luck".

ERA is hugely luck dependent. Look at Weaver's peripherals. They are hardly different from his Angels numbers.

Either way he has been bad, but he has been much luckier with St.Louis.
