He went 2-3 today with 2 walks, 2 runs and 2 RBI. He also added his 5th stolen base. He is now hitting .400/.528/.467 through 8 games. He has 7 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Don't know what to make of that. Last year it was Kevin Howard.

Howard didn't have the athleticism of Strait. If he can hit, he has potential.

My personal opinion is Cody Strait could be a wild card for the Reds in the next 2 years. He has speed to burn, and quite a bit of power, 17 home runs in the FSL isnt anything to sneeze at. If he can raise his batting average up a bit, he could be a real player.

How much ground could an outfield of Strait, Stubbs, and Bruce cover?! You could probably hack about 2 points off our team ERA this year! AA will tell a lot about Cody Strait.

You are right SD, I just hope it tells us good things about Strait.

He seems to have at least some semblance of an eye with about 70 points gained in his OBP over his BA. Very interested to see how he takes on AA pitching next year.

I was never fond of him when he played at Dayton. Maybe because he was a skinny white guy without the look of a prospect. Watched him from far away though when he played. Never really struck me as something special, although I believe he was the first 04 draftee in Dayton.

If you have a staff that can keep the ball in play, I totally agree.

Who knows how many runs Dunn and Griffey cost us this year.

I'll be more excited when he does this in the spring or summer. As for now, what is up with this league? Dead arms by this time? Maybe we could use him as some sort of trade bait. But look at what Kevin Howard and Ben Himes got us...Tony Womack.

Phoenix scored a boatload today in a 23-9 win. Strait, unfortunately, was just 1-for-7. And Tyler Pelland gave up eight of those nine runs- although just four were earned.
