I don't have a problem with the Cards winning - it reminds me that we can do it too. They played a heckuva a Series - the only downer was Casey not winning.

David Eckstein

the fact that the reds won the season series from the "world champs" induces emesis

Meh. If anything, this will make St. Louis a bit less hungry. I see that as a positive for the Reds.

The Reds are no longer the most recent team in the division to win the World Series.

But that just means their next one is that much closer, right? Right.

That George Grande is going to be even more insufferable next season.

That all the world will continue to hear how St. Louis is the greatest baseball town (which is a crazy urban myth).

I don't mind the Cards winning; if anything it gives me hope that the Redlegs will be there soon, too. The Cardinals were not a lot better than these 2006 Reds were.

Also, it reminds me that, in MLB today, you don't have to have the best team to be World Series Champ. The goal is not to have the best team, it's to win the World Series. Wierd logic, maybe, but it makes it easier to reach the goal.

Actually, it could be a positive for next year...the Cards will have to open their pockets to keep their current pitching staff intact, therefore it could feasibly make us more competitive in the division.

Just when I didnt think things could get any worse with St. Louis winning the World Series.....I read the George Grande option of this poll. 2007 could be the season from hell.

And a close second for me was the Eckstein one, that name should never be mentioned with the letters MVP.

I wish there was an "all of the above" option. Oh and also add that I work with about 20 insufferable Cardinal fans! I'm seriously hurting over here you guys. Alas, I continue on as a Reds fan undaunted. Purchased my tickets for Redsfest yesterday and cannot wait.

The Reds are no longer the most recent team in the division to win the World Series. That's exactly what bothers me most about it. For some reason I liked that the Reds were the last NL Central team to win it all.

Man, I never thought of that. That is pretty sad that it took 16 years to get another team from our division of six teams to win a WS title. Odds say it should have happened at least two-three times already given there were only 4 divisions for a while, and now 6.
