I don’t even care if it’s pronounced differently. Dick Pole is a Beavis and Butthead Joke every time you say it.

Okay, so how is his name pronounced? Is it not like it's spelled?

I recall hearing WGN announcers pronounce it like "pool" but I always just assumed they didn't want to get in trouble with the FCC. :dunno:

It can't be pronounced "pool," because then his parents would have named him "Peezin."

Whats the big deal about a mans name guys.Sure put the two together its funny but its still his name.Lets just say his name and forget about the joke.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I think it's just the board blowing off steam. I'll personally build a beer can statue in my front yard of Mr. Pole if he can help our pitching situation. And I've heard a lot of good things about him. None of the kidding is personal in any way.

Things have been pretty tense around here lately. Some very funny people have stepped up to lighten the mood. That makes me happy. So, in a way, Dick Pole is taking one for the team.... the RedsZone team.

Leo Mazzone rocks back and forth on the bench, but apparently Dick Pole sits erect in the dugout.
