As REDS fans know it does not matter who is in 1st place until the end of the year. The wildcard, however, throws a bit of a curveball into that statement. Anyhow the last three years have seen the St. Louis Cardinals dominate holding 1st place in the NL Central (they have also won the division each of the last 3 years). The team who has been in 1st place the most behind St. Louis might be a surprise to some (glass is 1/2 full! :)).
