View Full Version : Next Bengal Arrested

I thought I'd do a pool here for the next Bengal to be arrested. Pick the next player to be arrested and you will win 20 shiny rep points from me (If anyone else wants to give rep points to the winner, that would be cool but it's not required. This player has to be currently under contract to the Bengals so if they draft someone and he's arrested before he signs, it doesn't count. Speeding tickets don't count either. The player has to actually be arrested. One player per person. If we have 20 people picking Chris Henry, only the 1st one to pick him will be eligible.

My pick is Kelly Washington.

Only one person can have Chris Henry, and pedro already picked him. You'll have to pick again, Cyclone, and this time, please, try and follow directions....

That's my pick.

I think this is the most likely.

Although the stringent restrictions of no boozing or going to bars for two years levied on one Chris Henry, is going to be awfully tough. I don't think he can or will make it that long, without being noticed or reported, or doing something stupid to screw up his probation.

Bengals receiver questioned in Miami man's death
Bengals receiver questioned in Miami man's death

February 2, 2007

MIAMI (AP) -- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson was questioned by Miami police regarding an investigation into the shooting death of a man.

Johnson, a Miami native, spoke with detectives Monday at police headquarters, according to The Miami Herald.

"Chad has confirmed to the club that he cooperated with the Miami Police earlier this week as part of an investigation," the team said in a statement released Friday to The Associated Press. "Police have characterized this as a routine procedure and have stressed that Chad is not a suspect or even a person of interest in this case."

Authorities have not said why Johnson was questioned or what connection he may have had in the death of Curtis Tavares Dopson last Friday.

The 27-year-old Dopson was shot near the doorway of a duplex he moved into about four months ago, the newspaper said. No arrests have been made.

Some are making way too much of this Chad thing. He knew the guy, so they questioned him. He's not a suspect nor a person of interest. Remember, this is a guy who is afraid to get touched going across the middle after a catch, I don't think he's involved with any murders...

Got this in an e-mail from my Bengals-luvin' father... :help:

An elementary teacher starts a new job at a school in Chicago, Illinois and trying to make a good impression on her first day explains to her class that she's a Bears fan.

She asks the class to raise their hands if they too are Bears fans.

Everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl. The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says: "Mary, why didn't you raise your hand?"

"Because I'm not a Bears fan," she replied.

The teacher, still shocked, asks: "Well, if you're not a Bears fan, then whom do you support?"

"I'm a Colts fan, and proud of it," Mary replied.

The teacher could not believe her ears. "Well Mary, might you explain why are you a Colts fan?"

"Because my mom and dad are from Indianapolis and my mom is a Colts fan and my dad is a Colts fan, so I'm a Colts fan too!"

"Well," said the teacher, in an obviously annoyed tone, "that's no reason for you to be a Colts fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mom was a prostitute and your dad was a drug addict and a car thief, what would you be then?"

Mary said, "I'd be a Bengals fan."

Close call. Potential winner?

Bengals cornerback Johnathan Joseph pleaded not guilty Monday morning in Burlington to a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.

Boone District Judge Michael Collins said Joseph is eligible for diversions because he has no prior record.

Diversion is a program for first-time offenders that generally requires the defendant to complete drug abuse education classes and community service in exchange for the charges being dropped.

However, last year's first-round draft pick will have to attend treatment sessions as a first-time violator of NFL policy. Punishment is spelled out in the league's collective bargaining agreement and is out of the Bengals' control.

A second violation would bring a four-game suspension, and the third strike brings one-year banishment.

Joseph was taken into custody at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 22 after a car in which he was a passenger was stopped at U.S. 42 and Braxton Road. A Boone County sheriff's deputy said he stopped the 1999 gold Ford for weaving in and out of lanes at a slow rate of speed. A police report states the vehicle crossed the centerline three times.

The police report states the deputy searched a Super Bowl backpack Joseph was holding after smelling a strong odor of marijuana during the traffic stop. Marijuana was found in the backpack next to a video game system, deputies said.

Joseph, of Union, did not speak with reporters during his brief court appearance. Robert Lotz of Covington represents him.

His next court date is Feb. 22 at the Boone County Justice Center.

Sounds like a winner to me. A diversion just means he won't get in trouble for it basically.

"Joseph was taken into custody at 2:15 a.m"

'taken into custody' = arrested

Ok. I honestly didn't know that any of that happened before I made my guess. Since I don't think Joseph is dumb enough to get arrested again here shortly (am I giving him too much credit?), I'm going to change my player.

My new player will be LB Marcus Wilkins.
