Steve Trachsel wouldn't help us much at all if any.

sure he was 15 and 8 last year but that was with a 4.97 era

put him in GABP and that is going to go down to maybe 10 or fewer wins if he's lucky.

and since nl central will be murders rowe this year he would have a good 5.50+ era.

Honestly call me crazy, but I think Milton can pitch as good as Trachsel if he was in the nl central.

Trachsel better stay in NY if he knows whats good for him.

Trachsel had good D behind him and had good run suppourt.

Oddly enough, Trachsel got creamed at Shea Stadium (5.52 ERA vs. 4.34 on the road)

Maybe a change of scenery might help him out.

He's not that good or anything, but he beats the crap out of some of the Reds alternatives. Especially if signed to a 1 year contract.

he really doesn't give up that many dingers compared to a lot of other guys. he gace up over 1/2 his HR's last year at home.

Actually they recently redid the numbers and thats #2 pitcher park in the US to Oakland :D.

if i remember correctly i was at a game him vs harang and it was a 2 and a half hour rain delay guess who came back out to pitch 3 more innings Steve.. Thats a guy you can count on..

Steve Trachsel is to be avoided. His numbers point to a 36 year old pitcher heading on the downward side of his career.

2003 season he gave up 8.97 Hits/9 with 2.86 BB/9 and 4.88 K/9.
2004 season he gave up 9.02 Hits/9 with 3.69 BB/9 and 5.20 K/9.
2005 season he only pitched 37 innings due to herniated disk surgery.
2006 season he gave up 10.11 hits/9 with 4.26 BB/9 and 4.32 K/9.

His career average for those numbers are:
14 ML seasons with 9.21 Hits/9 with 3.28 BB/9 and 5.94 K/9.

Let some other sucker team overpay for diminishing returns on that kind of investment.

Apparently Steve Trachsel has priced himself out of the Nationals' range ($3 million is too much I guess). Washington is not one of the three teams in the running for him, according to Bill Ladson.

A few days ago, Ken Rosenthal reported that the Astros were talking to Trax but that Tim Purpura did not consider it hot and heavy. The Twins are out now too. So who are these two other teams?

Trachsel was born in Oxnard, CA, so maybe he'd like to play on the west coast. The Dodgers and Angels would be closest to his hometown, but those teams have fully booked rotations. The Padres, Giants, and A's are further away. I wouldn't put it past the Giants to sign Trachsel to use instead of Jonathan Sanchez. Or maybe Trachsel could help as the veteran presence in Tampa Bay's rotation? Perhaps some Kyle Davies insurance for the Braves?

The Mets jerked Trachsel around a lot over the last couple years. Randolph and Peterson were not enamored with him at all. I think Trachsel's attitude had something to do with the problems as well.
