It's not a split squad game, it's a ''B'' game played at the minor league complex to make sure to give everyone a chance to play especially before the minor leagues report.

Question: What is the difference between A & B games and split squad games. Sound pretty much the same to me. Are we just talking symantics or are is there a substantial difference?

A ''B'' game is free. A ''A' game is treated as a regular spring training game with a ticket admission,

So the main difference is the price of the ticket and location of the game?

So the main difference is the price of the ticket and location of the game? yes. Also when a team has a split squad game those are counted as regular spring training games and have 2 different admissions. Minor league spring training games and ''B'' games are free at the minor league fields or complexs.
