If the Boston Red Sox want to deal Joel Pineiro now that he is no longer in the picture to serve as closer, they are not going to have difficulty finding a trading partner.

Scouts from several teams have been monitoring the right-hander, whose role was shifted to middle or set-up innings following Jonathan Papelbon's recent return to closer.

The Cincinnati Reds, who are leaning toward selecting Dustin Hermanson as closer from a pool of journeyman relievers, may be the best fit.

Isn't this like the third Pineiro thread in the last couple days?

Didn't see anything on the front page, don't spend everyday here. It is nice to know, though, as another season is about to begin, that there's still room for snide comments here at redszone when it's easier to just say nothing.

There was nothing snide about my comment. I suppose it would be easier to say nothing but then it wouldn't be easier to browse the threads when there are multiple versions of the same one.

A simple search before starting a thread is all it takes...

And I dont think Pineiro has improved much in that time either.

In your defense...I understand where you are coming from. I am at work around 14 hrs a day counting driving.
I get on computer a few minutes at night to share thoughts maybe I have or get other insight and I dont have time to "search" much myself !

But this is exactly why having three threads on the same story should be discouraged....

I think we all pretty much work alot....

Everyone else may work 25 hours a day..that was not my point .
A subject in a thread title is one thing. However at times I have posted a comment or reply only to get "already discussed in another thread " by someone.
If it is "the thread"...then it should be easy to see, however if it is "in" a thread....I probably couldnt check all out to find it.

Let me give you an example:
The other day Marty said he was gonna ask JN why he didnt make Milty the 5th starter rather than 3rd or 4th (on his program) the next day.I posted in one thread I would sure like to know his answer. I got home and didnt want to make a thread for a simple question/answer.
I checked about the first 2 pages of the game thread and didnt see it. Maybe it was on page 8...I dont know. Anyway...thats why questions are repeated sometimes on things mentioned deep in a thread.
Tonight I have been on Redszone around 15 minutes at 2 different times.
I have checked probably 3 threads.
Also I think what the poster thought was snide about it was you could have just linked him to a thread.

right but a quick search still prevents multiple threads on the same subject...it only takes 15 seconds....

I think we can leave the policing up to the mods who will usually shut the "offending" thread down and give us a link to the "populated" one.

That's a great idea... Any chance this thread can get exfoliated?
