Some things were confirmed in the Aurilia and Lopez just didn't get to many balls.

Surpises ... for a LF Dunn gets to a lot more balls OOZ than the average LF.

over the 3 year period that is really what it shows. My thought is that he moves well side to side but has issues going back on the ball.

Or it could be that he ended up taking some balls that a less range-challenged center fielder would normally have taken. But I tend to agree with your observation.
