EDIT: Whoever made the same thread (but with the wrong date), I beat you to it!

Reds lineup vs. Pirates

1. Freel, CF
2. Phillips, 2B
3. Dunn, LF
4. Encarnacion, 3B
5. Griffey Jr., RF
6. Conine, 1B
7. Gonzalez, SS
8. Ross, C
9. Belisle, RHP

Well, it's fitting that I start this thread! :mooner: Get it done Reds, I don't want to hear it from the coworkers if the Pirates win. I've heard enough about them being 3-0 already, haha. People up here are freaking out that they've actually made some media exposure due to the good start.

As for the Pirates:

Chris Duffy CF
Jack Wilson SS
Jason Bay LF

There was snow during the Yankees vs Devil Rays game last night and they kept playing....I think a "snow out" would be if it's really really bad.

Then again, I'll be indoors and warm so what do I know? :D

Well, Detroit's game did get postponed...so, it's a possibility I suppose. In my three years with the Reds, I don't ever remember it being THIS cold. I sure hope it goes on as planned. I'm heading to a sports bar to watch the game tonight with my g/f....and my brand new Reds hat :D

I think it's so odd that it's this cold during baseball. Like I said, I hope the game goes on...and hopefully without the wind this time. How many times do you think the Reds were robbed of home runs because of the wind recently?

I hear ya, but c'mon. If anybody has proven that he can take the worload no matter what time of year, it's Bronson. 240 innings last year, while taking the ball on 3 days rest??? C'mon now! Modern fans worry too much about pitch counts in my opinion, I'm old school.

I think postponing games for cold is a little ridiculous myself. You never hear that complaint during football season. What's the difference?

I have many great memories of sitting in the cold and snow at baseball games under a "stadium blanket". Including one just last April at Yankee Stadium. It was freezing, but it was fun.

Brantley said bunting is like catching the ball with the bat. You don't stab at the ball when you catch it, you catch it with the fat part of the glove. He says you do the same thing when you bunt...if you stab at it, you go foul, like Belisle did.

That is a GREAT explanation!!!

Wow it amazes me year after year how inept this team is at playing small ball. 2 on, no out, may as well be none on 2 out with this team because they sure haven't learned over the years how to move runners over. Seriously, whenever I see 2 on, no one out, I think "Ok how are we going to completely blow this" instead of "Wow, we're going to have a big time inning."

Two things you don't do here, and they did them:

1) Don't strike out on a bunt.

2) Don't ground into a double play
