I thought Milton was supposed to go today. I see that he is now scheduled for Sunday. Was this a recent decision or was this the intent for the last few days?

I'd also be interested to know what all of you think about the possibility of Milton following Harang in the lineup on a regular basis. That probably won't happen because he will be shuffled around amongst the off days, but I firmly believe that you should have your top two back to back as often as possible and have your worst followed up by your best.

Momentum is huge in baseball so best to get a streak going and also be able to stop one with your best pitcher.

On the lineup today...I definitely like seeing Dunn in the two hole on a regular basis. I might like to see Encarnacion over Phillips batting third, but everything else makes good since. Kudos to Narron.

Go Reds!

No he was always scheduled for Sunday. Because of the off day this is Harang's regular day. And I'm sure on the next off day they'll skip the 5 spot when ever they can to get Arroyo after Harang again.

I was wondering the same thing. It seems a bit unfair to switch catchers on Harang especially since he had such a consistent backstop in LaRue last year.

If you are going to sub Hamilton, it's better he start againt a RH pitcher, not Duke.

I know I am going to regret posting this... but maybe if I just throw it out there on the board I can forget about it and get back to being just a total fan of Josh Hamilton.

When Josh missed his first start because of the flu, I didnt think much on it... until I heard he never made it to the ballpark. Then the smallest finger of doubt seeped into my brain. Every logical and rational bone in my body tells me its nothing and just to forget about it... but that slightest finger of doubt is still there. It is kept alive when he has a very impatient un-Josh like AB last night and he gets bypassed for the start we all thought he would make today. Yes, I know the AB could have been caused by the poor umpire strike zone, the cold and the flu, and the flu or Jr demanding to stay in the lineup would explain him riding pine today. Fears are almost always irrational... but being so doesnt make them go away.

Having known and worked alongside recovering alcoholics and drug addicts, the first tell tale sign that their recovery had left the straight and narrow path was always them calling in sick with some illness like the flu.

I dont want to believe this or even think it and I want to banish these doubts from my brain. Josh Hamilton makes me more of a Reds fan than ever and I want it to stay that way.

Help me out here and reassure me that this his illness is totally mundane, that Josh is still the bright and shining wonder boy of the future.

I think your concern is fair enough Brisco. However, they gave a pretty clear description in terms of needing fluids, his wife also being hospitalized for the flu, etc. that this wasn't just Josh calling in sick. I have no idea if his issues could manifest themselves as flu symptoms, but I don't think the Reds are merely taking his word for it.

Isn't that Dunn's second homer on the first pitch of the AB? Yes, small sample size, but it seems like Dunn is taking more of a "hit the first pitch I can drive" approach and avoiding getting behind in the count early.

The Armas/Cota battery is incredibly inept at handling the running game, and the Reds are taking advantage so far with four stolen bases in three innings.

One of the things the Reds did very well last season was steal bases at an exceptionally high clip. In 2006, the Reds stole 124 bags in only 157 attempts, and that's good for a 79 percent success rate. If teams can steal bases at that high of a clip, the stolen base can become a nice weapon for run scoring. Needless to say, I will be more than pleased if the Reds are able to match that success rate this season.
