Barry Zito is 0-2 with an 8.18 ERA and a 1.920 OPSA. How we lookin?

I think that he'll obviously be better than that this season, but that contract is still ridiculous. And I think by the time 2013 rolls around and his salary has jumped up to 20 mil. I think SF fans will just begin to understand how we feel about Eric Milton.

Way overreacting.

For Zito's career, he has 203IP in April for a 5.00ERA and an OPS against of .736.

Just like the rest of the Oakland A's, he's a notoriously slow starter. Heck, if he just had an average April for his career, he'd go from one of the better pitchers in the game to one of a handful you could consider the best.

So you think he's worth 126 mil? I said he's going to be better than he has been so far, but I don't think he's capable of pitching up to that contract. I guess we'll see.

Zito is a prime plum for a good fantasy trade.

A lot of Zito's worth is in the fact that he's started more games in Aug/Sept than in April/May. Durability is huge.

Comparing Zito and Milton salary wise is like comparing aged wine to mad dog 20/20.

I said in 2013 when he's making 20 mil and I also said SF fans would just begin to understand.

zito also pitched in the cavern in oakland where not very many homers go out and every foul ball is almost caught so that helps tremendously

I'm not trading him, but Zito hasn't done me any favors. In fantasy that is

Thought this would be interesting to bring up.

Zito is now 7-10 with a 5.00 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and has easily been the Giants worst SP. In 117.0 IP he has:
20 GS
113 H
78 SO
54 BB
14 HR

Just more evidence how important it is for the Reds to actively develop SP from inside the organization.
