It's nice to see that we miss Brandon Webb out there, but freakin' Doug Davis owned the Reds last year. Hopefully he walks 5 guys.

oneupper
04-09-2007, 07:12 PM
The most important guy in the game today isn't in either lineup. It will be the plate umpire. Doug Davis is a guy who NEVER likes to throw anything over the plate. Nibble Nibble.

If he gets an ump who calls a wide zone...we're in trouble.
Otherwise...patience, patience....

For validation purposes...
Davis is 6-2 with a 3.43 ERA in 13 career starts versus the Reds (4-2), and is 3-0 in his last four outings against them.

Like oneupper said, the only way the Reds will put up any runs against Davis most likely, is if he walks 5 or 6 guys. Control problems have always been his track record.

Actually, after reading the thread on this, provided the opposing lineup is posted in the very first post by the original thread starter, it doesn't matter to me (as long as it's in this forum).

Anyone tune to MLB GameMix on Directv 732? It shows up to eight games on a split screen at one time. I have been able to watch the Padres game on it, while the Padres game is black-out in my area. Also, I can watch the Reds pregame, but usually I would have to subscribe to the Sports Network package to see that (the package of Fox Sports channels, not the MLB Extra Innings package). The Pregame is black-out for me on the regular channel.

Ok, I'm chiming in for the first time. It's been a somewhat busy day on my part. Today was the Pirates' home opener against the Cardinals.

So...I found out today that the Pirates sell something in the concession area called the "Bucco Taco", which seems like a knock off of something you'd find in Cincy. It's a cup with Fritos topped with chilli, cheese, onions and crackers.

Anyway, let's go Reds!
