April 15. Most of us will think of it as the day Jackie Robinson broke the color-barrier in MLB. A great thing that was 60 years ago. :)

HOWEVER... it was the day President Abraham Lincoln died in 1865. It was the day the Titanic sunk in the North Atlantic in 1912. It became the day when our taxes are due once the 16th Amendment was ratified in 1913. And the last time the REDS won a game on April 15? Believe it or not the year was 2001...

* 2006: Lose to Cardinals 9-3.
* 2005: Lose to Astros 11-2.
* 2004: Lose to Phillies 6-4.
* 2003: Lose to Cubs 11-1.
* 2002: Did not play (off day).

> In the last 5 years the REDS have been outscored 37-10 on April 15.... or an average of 9.25 RA to 2.50 RS.
> The starters in the last 5 years in the April 15 games (Graves, Acevedo, Wilson & Williams) are no longer with the club. Their combined April 15 stats? How about 19.1 IP, 20ER, 28H, 17K, 10BB, 6HRA... 9.31 ERA, 1.96 WHIP. Kyle Lohse... beware!!
> And how about the REDS offense? Well they had 5 hits, 7 hits, 5 hits and 7 hits on April 15. And lost to names like Shawn Estes (gag), Rheal Cormier (gag), Roy Oswalt (understandable) and Sidney Ponson (jet-ski drinker).

The last win? 3-1 win over the Mets. The REDS managed only 3 runs depite having 13 hits in the game. Jim Brower started and got the win. He was relieved by Denis Reyes, Mark Wohlers, Scott Sullivan and Danny Graves (save). Five REDS hitters each had 2 hits... Michael Tucker, Dmitri Young, Sean Casey, Juan Castro and Kelley Stinnett.

The only current REDS who wore a REDS uniform on an April 15 win? The afore-mentioned Castro and Junior Griffey (who PH in the last win on Apr. 15).

Time to break the curse. :help:

April 15. Time to break the curse. :help:

The curse has been broken. Despite only 2 hits and 1 run. Thank you to Lohse, Stanton, Weathers, Phillips and Conine.

This franchise does not need some stupid-arse goat to break curses. Just good pitching. Understand, Cubbies? :)
