Oh man! That's awesome!!
I love Mark Buehrle. He's due to come back big-time this year.
edit: Wow, he came within a walk of a perfect game, to Sosa of all people. That's got to be frustrating.

White Sox fans are loving that. He was being written off many places.

There's something about a no-no that's exciting. Sometimes even for teams I despise. Congrats to Mark and boo to Sammy for ruining more baseball history.

It occurs to me that I don't know the Redszone policy for alerting each other to potential no-hitters in progress, if there is one. Is there a secret code, a no jinx zone, a please jinx zone, or does someone just start a thread saying something like "Interesting game in Chicago, hint, hint"? I came across this one in the 8th and was afraid to do anything.

If there is a precident, I don't know what it is. It's been too long since there's been a no-hitter.
I don't have a problem with alerting RZ to a potential no-hitter. I actually go so far as to say I'd appreciate such a thread. Use some discretion of course, there's a big difference between a no-no through 4 and a no-no through 7.

The last White Sox pitcher to throw a no-no was Wilson Alvarez. I remember this because I have his no-hitter baseball card somewhere.

Buehrle baffled the Rangers with an assortment of 86-mph fastballs. I'm shocked that he managed to strike out 8 batters.

I might be wrong, but I think I read on the ESPN scroll that he faced the minimum of 27 batters, so Sosa was out on a DP or pick-off.

Sosa was picked off.

The Sox have had 16 no hitters. I don't believe the Mets have had 1.

We should make a rule, no no hitter threads if it involves a Red doing it. Thats just begging for a jinx

If you're Ozzie Guillen, you don't. You simply say a gutteral "Burr".

Well, to be fair, the Sox have had a few more shots at it.
