Manny, Drew, Lowell and Varitek.

Back-to-back-to-back-to-back.

Unbelievable.

Who batted next?

Wily Mo.

What'd he do?

He K'd.

That was crazy. I don't know when the last time a team hit four straight homers was, but I know I've never seen it.

Yankees didn't have any problem leaving the kid pitcher in to get pounded. Not sure if you shoulld take him out to limit damage or leave him in to get past it.

Took him out at the start of the next inning.

Didn't the Braves do it to the Reds last year or the year before. I think it was to lead off the game no-less.

I've been watching so much bad baseball the last couple of weeks, I forgot what it was like to watch teams battle, and score runs.

Jetter homer...4-4

Was Milton pitching? If so, then probably correct. :D

Joe Morgan has gone senile. Jon Miller brought up Mike Boddicker and the fosh pitch, then he asked Morgan if he ever saw a fosh. Morgan said no, clearly forgetting that Boddicker made his Phillies look phoolish in game two of the 1983 World Series.

It has happened four times before:

1. Milwaukee Braves v. Cincinnati, June 8, 1961, 7th inning.
(Eddie Mathews, Hank Aaron, Joe Adcock, Frank Thomas)

2. Cleveland Indians v. L.A. Angels, July 31, 1963, 2nd game, 6th inning.
(Woody Held, Pedro Ramos, Tito Francona, Larry Brown)

3. Minnesota Twins v. Kansas City Royals, May 2, 1964, 11th inning.
(Tony Oliva, Bob Allison, Jimmie Hall, Harmon Killebrew)

4. LA Dodgers v. San Diego Pagres, September 18, 2006, 9th inning.
(Jeff Kent, J.D. Drew, Russell Martin, Marlon Anderson)

Also the Indians vs Angels is the only other time all four where off the same pitcher

now...

5. Boston Red Sox v. New york Yankees, April 22, 2207, 3rd inning
(M Ramirez, J.D. Drew, M Lowell, J Varitek)

Can you believe JD Drew has done it twice....

BTW, the Red Sox somehow have 4 HR, 2 2B, 7 BB, and 4 R.

All four seemed like good pitches to me. With the exception of Manny's none seemed to be hanging out over the dish. Kid was just getting pounded

I was at the hotel bar watching the game on TV. That was just frickin amazing. What a week. My first live triple play AND now this.

On related news, during the first 3 innings, anyway, Dice-K wasn't fooling anybody.

I'm not sure if it was four in a row, I think they may have sprinkled a couple doubles in between. But I believe it was our good friend Jeff Austin who suffered the whip lash that day.

When I look at that list the one that jumps out to me is the Indians/Angels performance. All of the other quartets have some pretty darn good power guys in them. Of the Indians that did it, Woody Held (SS) was the only one that routinely hit 20 home runs through the peak of his career. Francona and Brown were pretty mild sticks (except for Francona's average) and Ramos, for crying out loud, was a pitcher!!

Okay, BOS now has 11 H, 9 BB, 5 HR, 3 2B, 7 R. Ridiculous. By contrast, NYY has 9 H, 2 BB, 1 HR, 2 2B, 2 HBP, 6 R.

And it really came down to Pedroia's stellar grab to end the 8th.

Those two clubs really know how to go to war.

And Papelbon WANTED to walk Abreu so he could get A-Rod. I swear, he literally couldn't help himself, it's just so obvious that he feeds off the drama.

Well, I'm not so sure about that. Abreu's the very defintion of a tough out.

Now that this NYY vs. BoSox series is over, what will the baseball media (ESPN) do or think?!? Is there any sense in covering anything until these two teams play each other again... oh wait, the meida will now have two games per night to cover: (1) BoSox vs. whomever (2) NYY vs. whomever. In case you were wonderin', the NYY at Tampa Bay is on ESPN tonight. Imagine that?!?

Well, they do meet this coming weekend.

A Sox fan friend of mine has developed a pat answer for complaints like this: We like baseball more than you, so the media pays us more attention.

Now, I don't know that I'd go that far, but I can tell you it's pretty cool to be in the middle of the buzz when these two teams meet.
