Nothing like putting Dunn in a spot that emphasizes contact with men on base and deemphasizes on base ability. Bat Dunn 2nd. Bat Phillips low in the order where his power still matters and he can run to manufacture a run if necessary. uggh.

Chasing is what its known as in poker/betting. Double up on the next bet to get back to even because you lost the last one. Sure fire method to always be behind the 8-ball.

Put a standard lineup out there day after day, let them play through slumps and have the large numbers work in your favor over 162 games.

It never ends. And we wonder why we don't score runs. Of course, now that I've said that, we'll score 10. In spite of the batting order.

Tony Cloninger
04-28-2007, 06:40 PM
The reason JN bats Phillips where he does is beacuse he has K'd less than Dunn.

That is it. Dunn trumps him in all other aspects. This is the only problem that I have with the lineup. I agree with this. I wish somebody in the booth would have the balls to call this out.

I still do not think it is the reason the Reds offense will suck again.

He has pitched really well this year in 4 starts:
He threw 5 innings against Hou allowing 2 ER on 7 hits
He threw 7 shutout innings against STL allowing only 4 hits and no walks
He then threw 8.1 innings against STL allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks
He then threw 6 innings against LA allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks.

How long will Wayne sit around and watch this offense and do nothing about it?

Well what do you want him to do about it?

The obvious hole is catching, but I sure wouldn't want to pay the price for a catcher that can step in right now and be an effective regular.

The Reds are basically stuck with what they have in the OF, 3B, 2B, SS, and 1B.

Based on how the team is currently constructed, I don't see how Krivsky can make a move that will benefit the team now while also being in the best interests in the franchise.

Yup. For the sake of those reading after the fact....

- Belisle bunted but it hit his toe so he was out.
