With JR. hitting number 568 last night, and Redzone on fire about the blowpen. I thought it would be time to post the question of will Griffey hit number 600 this year. I have posted a few options in the poll so feel free to take part in this blowpen free distraction.

He needs 32 more to make it.

As a Red, he's averaged exactly 100 games played per season. (Okay, 99.98.)

So, yeah, he could. But I'd put my money on '09. (Which just so happens to be the walk year on his contract. Multi-year extension, anyone?) ;)

'09? I hope that was a typo, surely you don't think he's going to hit less than 32 home runs for the rest of this year and all of next year.

If he stays healthy, he gets there this year. If not, then next year. I think I voted for the wrong one though which is why I am explaining.

My point is if he plays a full year, the way he is swinging the bat and seeing the ball, he definitely hits 32 more HR's.

He definately is seeing the ball well right now, isn't he?

I voted for next year, but not because of injury. If things go right, he could do it this year, but again, I think it's more likely next.

He has the ability to do it. I say if he stays healthy he can do it. He's doing amazing right now.

The same exact thing I was thinking.

I hope he does.

I would like to see things just go his way for a change, like having a dream season. I think that fate or whatever has dealt him more than enough the past several seasons including this one. It had to be difficult and trying for him, while frustrating for we fans.

It was.

I guess I'm already in next-year mode.
