yes and dunn is 2-18 off him with 7 K's.and the odds are still better of Dunn producing rather than Hopper. Maybe he didn't hit a HR off a LHP last night. JN really seems to revel in the losing.

For those that think Narron can't manage, Pittsburgh's isn't a gem, either.

You have to love Jason Bay never seeing the first inning.

Not until recently he didn't. He hit Wilson in the second hole where he has out machine Chris Duffy right now.

Maybe this weekend is that time.

(Winning 3 of 4 gets the Reds out of the NL Central basement)

He ended the 7th at 88. No need to send him out for the 8th. Narron ALWAYS does this (well very often).

Side note undeserving of an actual thread: I'm tooling around looking for some Reds stats, and on this ESPN page:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/roster?team=cin

they list not only the players' average age, but also team average height and weight.

What am I missing here, statistically? How is this at all valuable information? Will they next be informing us of team average blood pressure?

More to the point: I have to believe that someone was paid to determine those height and weight averages. Oh, man.

Narron went through his bench like Sherman through Georgia.

Bench:
Hatteberg (used in top of the 9th as part of double-switch)
Valentin (used in bottom of the 9th as a PH for Ross)
Castro (used in bottom of the 9th as a PR for Valentin)
Moeller (had to be held back to be used to catch in 10th inning)
Dunn (available)

If Narron uses Dunn to pinch-hit for Hopper, then the bench is spent. He could have used Moeller to PH for Hopper, since Moeller had to enter the game, anyway, but I think we would agree that Hopper is a better hitter than Moeller.
