Behind the shutout hurling of Mike LaCoss the Reds continued their torrid pace by blanking the Bucs and Al McBean 4-0 today. LaCoss entered the game with a 1-6 record and was aided by the slugging of catcher Terry McGriff and third baseman Scotty Madison. Outfielder Joel Youngblood apparantly suffered an injury in the game.

amazing, the reds edged the astros 4-3 behind a complete game hurled by John tsitouris. Tsitouris allowed six hits and two earned runs. The Reds scored three in the first with leadoff hitter Angel bravo providing the spark,. Second place hitter shortstop Woody Woodward also had three hits. For the Astros, the loser was mark Lemongello.

Lefty Charlie Liebrandy pitched well aided by one and one third innings of Scott Bankhead relief as the Reds defeated David Nied and the Rockies 4-2. The scoring was opened by outfielder Mike Lum's homerun followed by a homer from shortstop darrell Chaney. the Rockies were paced by the hitting of Jim tatum and jayhawk owens. Tomorrow though the Reds must defeat Butch Henry, how imposing!
