As expected, Griffey gets a much needed rest in a day game after a night game. With injuries previously, he hasn't always gotten his usual rest in this situation. With the tough lefty in, it's a good as time as any to rest him.

He was starting to tire about 10 games ago, and his few days off seemed to rejuvenate him this week. We need to keep his fresh to keep him productive.

This really could be another thread.

I was also thinking the John Waite song coud have been about Tony Womack, because I really don't miss him at all. No matter what my friends might say.

Conine batting with the dark glasses. Is that the norm? I don't think I've ever noticed anyone doing that before. Base hit under the glove of the second baseman. Conine on first.

Encarnacion hits a foul liner down the third base line. Darn! Would have been a double for sure. Instead, 4-6 FC to second. Encarnacion on first. 1 out.

Hamilton walks on a full count. Runners on first and second.

Gonzalez hits into DP.... sigh.

Stanton in.

Barfield grounds to third; thrown out at first. 1 out.

Sabathia hits another down the middle (has two of the Indians 4 hits today). Runner on first.

Sizemore works it full, fouls one off, then hits it cleanly into short center. Runners on first and second.

Blake pops it up to Phillips. 2 outs. (whew!)

Martinez grounds to left after a couple beautiful strikes by Stanton. Bases loaded! The usual Reds downfall after the starter comes out of the game.

Garko works it full... I'm holding my breath. Pops it up but no one can get to it. Wait! They're calling it foul. It hit just inside the line and bounces foul (Stanton never touched it). A real break for the Reds. And on the next pitch, Stanton strikes him out. Oh my gosh!

Why would you ever bring Stanton in when the score is close?

Because he's been pitching very well his last few outings. He was unbelievable Friday night. And now, he K's that last batter. Brantley says he's got his breaking ball working, so this is what we hired him for. Only in Redszone do we believe he'll never be good again.

I imagine the logic is this: Majic has been pitching more than McBeth and not all that bad in this series. He got it straight in the kiester last night. No two ways about it. Dunn and Hatte can attest to the strike zone problems. Majic is throwing strikes with a lot of movement. OTH, I would have liked to have seen Narron use McBeth because the Indians don't have much of a book on him.
