I don't know about that. I was listening to Tim Lewis (the Mad Dog) this morning on my way to work and he had on another radio show host (Larry Brown) from Los Angeles. Brown said that Dunn is definitely coveted by teams like the Dodgers, Padres and Angels (to a lesser extent). He said they would love to have a left-handed power bat and Dunn fills that role. He, like several Reds fans have, pointed out the fact that 40 HR, 100 RBI, 100 walks and 100 RS don't just grow on trees. So basically, he had the opposite view of the blogger you linked.

My guess is that non-emotional Reds fans range much the same as emotional Reds fans. Some like the production Dunn brings, others belittle him for his faults.

Buster Olney had a piece on his blog today that discussed how hard it would be to move him and how a B level prospect is all that could be reasonably expected for him. He's right.

That article is among the most incoherent garbage I've ever seen on the Internet.

Pokey do you just google Adam Dunn Hate and look for the worse possible articles for you to try and prove a point. Did Adam Dunn refuse to give you an autograph? Is that why you hate him so much. Just let it out. Show your true feelings.

A dude that creates over 200 runs every year has plenty of value.

Well, non-emotional is one way to describe them, I just call them stupid.

I always figured Vulcans would like the Astros...space tie-in and whatnot.

Has anyone done any research like the article states about Dunn hitting around the average numbers OPS-wise for his position?

I've never read something dumber in my life

The guy is entitled to his opinion... I agree that Dunn's leather is pretty damn bad, but offensively, Dunn is a damn good power hitter.

Then if that's all you can get him for, that's what you have to deal him for. I don't see WK picking up that option.

If you read MORE THAN THAT ONE ARTICLE.......you'd realize that alot of teams are after Adam Dunn. Doesn't mean they'll overspend, but they still have to be competitive in their offer.

No reason to kick the dead horse here.

No reason to kick the dead horse here.

The horse is so dead that the smell is gone, the body is decomposed and the bacteria has evolved into sentient beings capable of faster than light space travel (who left the galaxy in their flagship, "The Adamdunn".)

I agree with the Blogger. Dunn is overrated by Reds fans. I would love to see him moved with hopefully something decent in return.

Great!!! Then lets see what that "value" is, and see if we could actually get it!!!

If his value is so low, then why is it he even merits an article at all?

Walks are our friends. So are Runs and Home Runs. Not to mention the intangibles of having a hitter like Dunn paired with a hitter like Griffey. That right there is fear for any pitcher out there, regardless of who you are.

I wouldn't exactly call it a non-Reds fan view. Maybe a Dunn-hater view.

how does Dunn produce 200 runs per year? Are you just adding his runs and rbi's? He averages about 98 rbi's per year and 102 runs, but about 42 of those rbi's are his own runs.

I thought it was hilarious, some of it was trash, some true. I do find myself yelling at the TV quite often as a result of Dunn's fielding mishaps.

Bill James came up with a formula to quantify how many runs a player creates in a given year. I'm not sure where reds44 got 200 from, because according to the stat Dunn has averaged ~90 RC/yr for his career, with a high of 124 in 2004.

I'm not the leader of the Adam Dunn fan club by any means, but that blog was ridiculous and childish. We all have our opinions about Adam Dunn, but that guy wasn't writing his opinion, he was spewing crap.
