Good grief! Conine cleanup (with Edwin in the lineup)?
Hamilton 8th?

Let's do our nightly lineup thingie...OBP - total - against leftys

Hopper - .311 .386
Phillips - .321 .353
Griffey - .384 .369
Conine - .352 .352
Dunn - .360 .317
EdE - .346 .333
Gonzo - .302 .282
Hamilton - .347 .327
Ross - .249 .219

Makes you wonder why Hamilton hits behind Gonzalez and Ross is playing over Valentin (.500 avg. .571 OBP).

Then again we have R-R-L-R-L-R-R-L-R. Oops, Jerry forgot to position Gonzo and Hamilton right. Or maybe hit Hamilton leadoff. Nah, you still get twi right handed hitters together. Maybe he'll change it before game time? No doubt we need another outfielder. Why do we have three catchers again? Because the Twins do? :bang:

You gotta remember though, Hamilton sucks so bad as a hitter that Castro is a viable option for him, so, I guess 8th is about right...

What little bit of seriousness I had left to take of Jerry Narron has all been lost after Wednesday.

I wonder how the clubhouse has reacted what he did on Wednesday. He may have finally totally lost them by now.

[/QUOTE]

Makes me wonder why posters complain without doing even basic research.

Sure Valentine has a .500 OBA against LH pitchers this year.....in 6 ABs.

You only have to watch Valentin hit against one LH pitcher to know you never want to see it again

Over the last 3 years, his .450 OPS gives a better indication of his ability to hit LH pitching

Many a city has absolutely tortured the return of players. Cleveland with Jim Thome made me ashamed to say I grew up there.

Thank you Seattle.

I love Junior and will always admire him. If he'd stayed healthy, he would have been well-worth the contract. He's still a draw. Seeing him hit two out last Saturday will always be a thrill for me to remember.

It''s really a shame that KGJ had to battle the injuries while doing things the right way and sorry junkie filth like McGwire, Bonds, Sosa, etc. pump their numbers and fame out of a needle.

He was duped into coming to Cincinnati, sadly.

He was made promises that were never fufilled.

The 99 Reds looked to be a very good, young team that had a chance to win for a while. The 2000 version of the Reds wasn't chopped liver either. I understand that ownership didn't do what it allegedly "promised" to build on it. But, if Jr. was decieved into believing this was a good situation moving forward, he wasn't the only one.

Tonight's festivities with Buhner and Martinez there was pure class. Anybody hear Rome today insist in his own inimitable, smarmy manner that Jr. would get booed out of the ballpark tonight?

These Mariners announcers really don't know anything about the Reds. According to them:

Griffey Senior isn't in the Reds orginization and that's why Junior changed his number.
Mike Berry is the Reds 3rd base coach.
