Does this hurt Hamilton's status with the Reds? Narron was a big reason that Hamilton landed with the Reds and yes Josh is having a good year, but he was comfortable with Narron from their NC ties.

Does anyone think this will hurt Josh?

It might hurt Josh, but the reality is if Josh cannot handle something as small as a managerial change, then he will never make it in MLB or in life for that matter.

The bigger question is what happens to Johnny Narron, who has served as Hamilton's mentor/chaperone to insure he stays on the wagon....

Jerry gave a strong plug to retain his brother, but we shall see.

If Josh's career was relying on Jerry or Johnny Narron then it was only a matter of time before his career went south again.

Josh will be fine.

No. Absolutely not. Hamilton is fully entrenched with the organization now. Heck, he is one of our best long-term prospects. He and Jay Bruce are 2/3 of the OF of the future. Narron's departure doesn't affect Hamilton's status at all.

And remember, Hamilton can't be a free agent until 2011, 2012 or something like that. He will be a Red for many a year.

Narron was not a reason Hamilton landed with the Reds. As stated many times before Krivsky was already set to trade for Hamilton before he even mentioned it to Narron.
