I didn't watch the game, but in that situation, wouldn't he just pinch hit for Glavine?

i doubt it, glavine had only allowed 2 hits.

Meh, they probably put Glavine on deck so that Mack would pitch to Milledge. Mack saw through this he made the right move.

he made the right call. It didn't work that's the beauty of the game of baseball.

Wasn't Lastings 0-3 before that hit?

Not to mention 2-14 since he'd been called up to the bigs. Stanton tried to sneak a first pitch fastball in there and Milledge was all over it. I'm kind of annoyed with Ross in that situation; Milledge is a fastball hitter all the way and Stanton's slow curve had been really effective in the past few weeks.

Then again, it was the infamous 8th inning. It seems the Reds could have had Jonathan Papelbon out there and he would have given up that run.

Yes but wouldn't you walk Lasting Milledge and force NY to make a call on weather to take Glavine out or let him hit?

IIRC, Easley had already gone into the on-deck circle as Milledge was coming to the plate.
