I think that's supposed to be Hardy.

Or just put Country Kepp in at SS to fend for himself.

Not gonna happen, SS is defense first.

Of course that doesn't explain the cast they tossed out at SS last year ... ;)

Encarnacion has been no great shakes against LHP this year, so I don't have a big problem with him sitting tonight (even though I would have him in the lineup).

My lineup for tonight would look like this:

Keppinger ss
Encarnacion 3b
Griffey rf
Dunn lf
Phillips 2b
Conine 1b
Ross c
Freel cf
Harang p

Freel has been SO awful (I mean OPS .399 AWFUL) vs. lefties this year that you'd have to consider Hopper for CF tonight.
Heck, a platoon would even make sense. Leave Freel on the bench.

The other thing is that Capuano has a fantastic (balk) move to first. If Freel gets on...well, it could get ugly.

I guess when a Reds player doesn't run hard on a pop up, Encarnacion gets benched.Jr's dogging it on Saturday got almost no play on this board, he didn't get benched but EE did, so you may be on to something. Whenever someone doesn't run out a pop up, EE goes to the pine.

I like your plan too. A bunt gives you either a man on 1st and 2nd or an out. Swinging away gives you either a homer, man on 1st and 2nd (or a variant of that) or an out.

Ill take option 2.

I'm glad that Lopez, who's error in the 10th almost cost us the game, gets the clutch walk that really sets up the inning.

"Clutch" in that he didn't swing any any obvious balls which is sometimes hard to do when you are bunting (assuming he had figured that out).

Me too. Some people might think he was hot-dogging with the basket catch, but I think he got lost out there, and misplayed the ball into anerror. I'm glad he turned the 4-6-3 DP, and I'm glad his walk was a key to the winning run scoring.

Observations from the bleachers:

Harang was simply dominating. Other than Braun's line drive, they got very few good swings at him. I was wondering how many pitches he ended up with, I see this morning it was 121. Very impressive piece of pitching to watch.

Griffey made two fantastic catches on balls that everyone groaned on as they left the infield. The first one was the best on Capuano's drive, I had said "I think the pitcher just got a home run" when it left the bat.

Hopper must have gotten a secondary lead on the bunt, because I kept on telling him to get a better lead but then left watching him to see the bunt. That was obviously the play of the game.

My five-year old saw his first game he remembers being at and his favorite player David Ross had a great game, so he was pretty proud. He is proudly displaying his new Reds cap now.
