TBA TUESDAY: Alex Gonzalez could return to the starting lineup for Tuesday's doubleheader in Pittsburgh.
The Reds shortstop has not started a game since he was reinstated from the bereavement list Wednesday.
"He's going to let me know Tuesday if he's ready to play," Mackanin said. "I was hoping to play him (Sunday) but he doesn't think his arm is quite ready. By Tuesday I think he should be ready.
