I don't like tonights lineup vs. Perez. The key to beating Perez is patience, not being right-handed.

That's not a very patient lineup.

But "The Book" says to match up RH hitters vs LH pitchers and vise versa.

Pay no attention to that other stuff. We must play the game by "The Book". ;)

What is with the adversion of making Hamilton face LHP?

This is a potential superstar in the making. This is bad. Very bad.

I have no problem with them bringing Hamilton along slowly against LHP's.

Besides Hopper is batting .355 vs. LHP. while Hamilton is batting .209.

But see, Pedro, such logic gets in the way of caricaturing anything the Reds management does.

Pedro, the stats don't lie, but if this kid is the real deal, at some point, he NEEDS to hit left handed pitchers, even soft-tossing herky-jerky types like Oliver Perez.

Even though our GM is touting pennant race, there really isn't one, and this is the time (September) and let the kid play everyday.

Sorry to seem a little on the edge, I was offered 4 tickets for tomorrow and I can't go. Then I heard Votto's starting.

I agree. I'm just not sure his first season back after not playing for three years is that time. I certainly hope they try and work him against LHP more next year but I really want Hamilton to have sustained success and comfort in a role that he can handle this year. And for the time being that doesn't seem to include facing much LHP. Remember, 6 months ago we were all wondering if he could even face RHP with any success. Let's not push for too much too soon.

Good point pedro, and I certainly don't disagree.

But if this guy's RX is playing baseball, IMO, I'd play him 5 games a week no matter who's playing.

All three hits against Coffey were 94-95 mph fastballs over the heart of the plate. (According to GameDay).

He is simply throwing too many predictable pitches.....needs to work the corners and get better placement, vary his speed a little..... have confidence in secondary pitches.
That walk was all fastballs.
