He is the man, he is only trailing Griffey by a few. Ellison has the potential to be another Dick Simspon

I had to do some research to find out about the immortal Dick Simpson. You must be older than me. Simpson played from 1962 to 1969 for LAA, California , Cincinnati, St.louis, and Houston. He played 288 games with 518 AB, 94 runs, 107 hits, 19 doubles, 2 triples, 15 hr, 56 rbi, 10 sb, 10 cs 64 wals, and 174 strileouts. Now for the scary part:.207 BA,.299 OBP., and .388 slg. Ellison will be another Dick Simpson if he is lucky.

From CTR:

Ellison will play tomorrow, Mackanin said. "You hit a home run, you play the enxt day," Mackanin said.

What about Phil Gagliano?

Anyway, nice hit. I think he raised his batting average from .050 to .060.

It was good to see him to hit that homer, he had been scuffling so badly and the fact that it came against his former team and provided the Reds with an insurance run.

Nice job! But I don't Pete needs to carried away and start playing him a lot. Against the Giants is fine, because he'll play like he has something to prove, but beyond that he should do as I do and watch the game.

Jason's HR and RBI totals are drawing comparisons to Tom Hume's 1977 season, although Mr. Hume has him beat in the OPS and BABIB department. One more RBI will bring him closer to Paul Moskau's totals for that same year.

Come on, marky. You should know Pete's sense of humor by now.
