Maybe for just this year... he changes from "This one belongs to the Reds" to "And we win one for Joe"(or something like that)

No. Marty is Marty and his line is "This one belongs to the Reds." He doesn't need to change it to pay respect to Joe. There is no moral code that says Marty should change his signature line.

Absolutely not. The best way for Marty to honor Joe is to keep doing exactly what he did for the many years they shared the booth. Such a tribute to Joe would in all honesty be a slap in the face to other former Reds who have passed on as well.

No. It's his signature line and Joe had one, too. There's no reason to change.

Joe wouldn't like it if Marty changed it.

I guess.

But no, he shouldn't change it. That is his line, and I'm sure Joe will come up alot already in next year's broadcasts.

"And as our old friend Joe smiles from above, This one belongs to the Reds."

I don't think Marty should change his signature line. But would it kill the old bastard to use it a little more often?

I think Marty SHOULD CHANGE IT. Just kidding. Just wanted to disagree for about one second to make this interesting.

NO!

Here's my question: What can the reds do to the text wrapped around the stadium that says "Rounding third and heading for home" to honor joe? Can they alter it in any way to make it more prominent for this season? I wonder...

I'm not sure they'd need to. At night that already stands out prominantly when you drive by. There are probably more tributes to Joe (and rightly so) at the ballpark than anyone else as it is already. Paying respects to Joe is appropriate. I just don't think that making the ballpark a shrine to him is.

He needs to ONCE and just ONCE (1st game) end the broadcast by saying

This is Marty "Rounding third and heading for home", goodbye Joe

Has Marty done that for *every* single Reds win he's ever announced?

Joe has a statue...in bronze....what more can the Reds do?
