Reds name public relations manager
Michael E. Anderson joins business operations staff

CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Reds today named Michael E. Anderson public relations manager.

Anderson will be charged with managing public relations and media relations for the Reds' off-the-field activities, including the Reds Community Fund, Reds Hall of Fame and Museum and other marketing-based initiatives.

He spent the last six years as public information officer at the University of Cincinnati's Hoxworth Blood Center. While at Hoxworth, Anderson created a nationally-recognized sports marketing campaign featuring the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, UC Bearcats and Xavier Musketeers. In 2007, Anderson accepted a Special Recognition Award by America's Blood Centers for his work with the Bengals' community blood drive.

"Michael's extensive sports-related and community-based public relations experience will be a great asset to the Reds," said Karen Forgus, the club's vice president of communications and marketing. "We look forward to his contributions as the Reds prepare for a great 2008 season, both on and off the field."

Anderson is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife, Melissa, live in Anderson Township.

He sounds like the right man for the right job.
