Fox Sports Net-Ohio will begin airing some memorable Reds games from years ago. It will be called "Reds Rewind Classics".
Selected Reds games from the 70's, 80's and 90's. To be hosted by Thom Brennaman and Jeff Brantley beginning this coming Monday, Jan.14th, 2008 at 8pm ET. Tom Browning's perfect game (didn't know they even had that game on TV back then) will be shown, reportedly. Also Tom Seaver's no-hitter is listed too. I know I'll be watching!!!

I read a post on ORG saying their schedule showed most of these around 3 hours so hopefully these games will all be in full or at least mostly complete games.
Great way to get us reved up for ST.

Insight cable in Louisville shows that monday's game is on from 8-10...unfortunately, it's not the full broadcast.

I also saw from other websites that the FSN-Ohio programming for the "Reds Rewind Classics" will be 3 hours. How much of that 3 hour block will be taken up by the commentary prior to and during the games by Thom Brennaman and Jeff Brantley hasn't been disclosed in any article I've read. I'm hoping we get to watch each game in total but like ESPN Classics use to do with baseball games.... "We now move ahead...." might also be use by FSN-Ohio but let's hope not.

Wonder if any complete Reds games from the 1960's telecast by WLWT Channel 5 in Cincinnati still exist? I'd love to see one of Jim Maloney's no-hitters or a young Pete Rose playing 2nd base and of course as my Redszone name implies-
Vada Pinson!!! Watching Frank Robinson or Johnny Bench back in the 1960's would be cool too.

Wow, can't wait to see the 4192 game in crystal clear format. I have it on a VHS tape from an over-the-air antenna, and apparently it was snowing for that entire game. ;)

Is this the game where Adam Dunn hits a walk off Grand slam off of Wickman?

This stuff is great. The FO should have all the players watch these games to know what being a Cincinnati Red truly means

No doubt!

All in all, this was a good job by the Reds/FSN. Somebody in ORG mentioned that beyond the history of the first inning, the 4192 game wasn't all that entertaining of a game. I liked how they interspersed interviews with Rose, Sparky, Tom Browning, etc. throughout the broadcast.

I just sat here and watched a repeat of a game for the last 2 hours from 22 years ago like it was the middle of August. Why didn't Fox think of this years ago??

I remember that ESPN Classic Played the 4,192 game a few years back. It was funny because Joe Morgan and the other announcer said "Let's raise a toast to Pete, this Bud's for you." Then they showed both of them cracking open a Budwiser and taking a swig in the booth.
I noticed they edited that out last night.

I thought I had remembered them doing that but when I didnt see it last night I figured I was remembering that from a different game.

Great stuff FSN-Ohio! Yes, having the players from that game adding their clips was a nice touch. Hope we can look forward to much of the same. I've been into the Reds HOF a few times and seeing Thom and Jeff in front of the model of old Crosley Field was cool too. I'm one of the old guys around here lucky enough to have gone to Crosley Field to see many games before it closed, coincidentally on my birthday (June 24th). But I digress, I could watch that game at least once or twice every year to re-live the thrill of Pete's record breaking hit!!! The man deserves to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. If Bud Selig and the powers to be want Pete out of Baseball (not managing, coaching, etc.) well I would feel that was fair, but to keep him out of the Hall of Fame is attrocious. Pete and everyone deserves a second chance especially with everything Pete went through since his banishment. It's approaching 20 years since he was banned. Time to allow him to be voted into Cooperstown. Just my 2 cents.

 Bravo to FSN Ohio and the Reds for the re-airing of these classic games. Last night's (1/14) broadcast was great. Airing the game in its entirety was a very good move. I thought the game itself was very entertaining. Of course Pete's hit was the main draw...and the emotion of the record breaker gave me chills again. But watching Eddie Milner patrol center field and Tom Browning pitch a dominating game was very entertaining also.

I have knocked FSN in the past...but they deserve a huge BRAVO for this idea. I'm just bummed knowing that future "Reds Rewind Classics" wont air here in Columbus because of Blue Jacket and Cavalier games...
