Castro sure is playing alot for someone with no chance of making the team.I stilll fear a bunch of geezers(Castro, Stanton, Hatty, etc) are going to be around and playing a lot.

I hope I am wrong.

Even Jay Bruce led off the one game he played CF. It must be a rule in the manager's handbook.

What are the odds of Hatteberg and Castro both starting on Opening Day?

What are the odds of Hatteberg and Castro both starting on Opening Day?should be ZERO but it seems to me a 50/50 shot at the moment.

BRM

should be ZERO but it seems to me a 50/50 shot at the moment.

Hatteberg is the most likely to start between the two. I still can't imagine Castro being in the starting lineup but anything is possible.

When Jeff Keppinger is in the lineup he should bat #1 or #2...

I still can't imagine Castro being in the starting lineup but anything is possible.Dusty has had a penchant for playing vets. There is no denying it. The issue is whether it was more due to circumstance than anything else. I don't know the answer but we will find out. It should be a no-brainer that Bruce/Votto/Keppinger should be in the opening day lineup. However, I will believe it when I see it.

BRM

When Jeff Keppinger is in the lineup he should bat #1 or #2...

He will when he plays SS. Third basemen must hit in a power spot. That's also in the handbook.

Why is Norris Hopper DH'ing when Dunn and Griffey are both in the lineup?

Seems odd to me.

I really doubt Castro is starting OD. I think he has about a 50/50 chance of making the team, sadly.

Interesting tidbit on C. Trent's blog.

Dusty had a lot of nice things to say about Dickerson today, saying he's made the most improvement during camp of anyone he's seen.

What are the odds of Hatteberg and Castro both starting on Opening Day?

I can't wait to see if that actually happens. I'll be combing the archives to find all the threads where I was destroyed for even insinuating that Hatteberg might start over Votto after his option was picked up.

Hey look, a member of "TEH TRADE!!!!!111". Probably the most productive member off all players involved, Brendan Harris steps to the dish. Great diving play by the other Phillips at 2nd, and he makes the throw to first to retire Harris.

Interesting play. Per C. Trent:

Casilla stole second after Affeldt apperaed to have him picked off, but Hatteberg's throw went into left, Casilla tried to score, but Dunn-to-Keppinger-to-Valentin nails him at the plate.

cumberlandreds

Double play ends the inning. Nice job by Gardner. Only hit was a bloop single that the Twins announcers said Griffey didn't make much of an attempt at catching.

Reds out in order in the 5th. Reds still lead 3-1.

I didn't even realize Mr. Finch got in the game. He can always have the Mrs sooth his wounds after the game. For all the guys who can handle rejection I read a story where he asked her out and was rejected multiple times before finally saying "yes".

Reds out in order. Seventh innning stretch time. 4-3 Twins.

cumberlandreds

Coutlangus in to pitch. Lets see if this lefty is any better.

cumberlandreds
03-03-2008, 03:07 PM
Gomez of the Twins doubles but trips going around second and is thrown out. Your typical routine Spring Training play. That ended the Twins 7th and the Twinks still lead 4-3 after seven.

cumberlandreds
03-03-2008, 03:13 PM
Zach Day into pitch for the Twins. He was coveted by many here at one time.

cumberlandreds
03-03-2008, 03:18 PM
UK's own Andy Green takes Day deep for a three run homer!!!! 6-4 Reds still batting in the 8th. Votto grounds out to end the inning.

Twins go out quietly after the homer. Free spring training baseball ahead! Now who can beat that?!?

cumberlandreds
03-03-2008, 03:49 PM
According to the Twins announcer the Twins have two pitchers left and the Reds have three. This will probably be it no matter what.

cumberlandreds
03-03-2008, 03:52 PM
Drew Anderson number one gets a two single. The Drew Anderson number two is now up. How in the world did the Reds get so lucky to have two Drew Anderson's? The 2nd gets a hit too and slugger Green is now up.

cumberlandreds
03-03-2008, 03:54 PM
Green flies out to deep CF to end the inning. Going to the bottom of the 10th still tied at six.

cumberlandreds
03-03-2008, 03:55 PM
