Per Fay, here is the Reds lineup for today's game. No radio at all. I'm sorry but that just sucks that the Reds can't broadcast a game against the Yankees. Except for Green and maybe Valentin that could be your opening day lineup and of course Votto would be at 1st.

Norris Hopper CF
Jeff Keppinger SS
Ken Griffey Jr. RF
Adam Dunn LF
Edwin Encarnacion 3B
Scott Hatteberg 1B
Joey Votto DH
Javier Valentin C
Andy Green 2B

Aaron Harang P, followed by Matt Maloney, Francisco Cordero, Mike Stanton and David Weathers. Also available: Justin Lehr, Marcus McBeth, Scott Sauerbeck, Tyler Pelland, Daryl Thompson, Alexander Smit.

And for the Still Evil, But No Longer an Empires
Damon dh
J. Molina c
Abreu rf
Giambi 1b
Betemit 2b
Jackson lf
Gardner cf
Woodward 3b
Gonzalez ss

Chien-Ming Wang p
other pitchers
Farnsworth

No score after one half inning. I'm getting these updates from MLB.com's scoreboard/boxscore. Harang gave up a double to Damon and struck out one.

Back to back singles for Hopper and Kepp. Kepp's apparently came on a hit and run, per C. Trent.

Fay's got a quick summary of the Reds 1st.

The Reds scored -- in the first. Norris Hopper led off with a hit. Jeff Keppinger singled with the hit-and-run on. Ken Griffey Jr. walked. Adam Dunn went the opposite way to single Hopper in. Edwin Encarnacion got two more in with a single to left. Scott Hatteberg popped out. Joey Votto walked to reload the bases. Javy Valentin smoked one to right that Abreu ran down. Dunn scored to make it 4-0. Andy Green doubled in another run. Hopper singled Votto in.

That was it for Chien-Ming Wang.

Scott Patterson came in and got Keppinger for the final out.

MLB must only update after the half inning is over. Reds scored six in the first. Wang didn't make it out the first and was replaced by Patterson. EdE had two RBI's,Dunn,Hopper,Green and Valentin each had one.

BRM

C. Trent touched on that flyer.

It's kinda funny that the day Dusty talked about wanting Joey Votto to be more aggressive at the plate, he's walked in his first two appearances. He did get thrown out at second trying to steal and not clog the bases in the third, though.

cumberlandreds
03-06-2008, 02:20 PM
Farnsworth pitched the third for the Yanks. He walked one but that was it. Cordero will pitch the 4th for the Reds. Here's is Harang's line for the day:

I saw this on Fay's blog. Apparently they played an extra half-inning at the Yankees request.

The Reds beat the Yankees 12-8 Thursday at Ed Smith Stadium. But the Yankees wanted to play an extra half of inning to get pitcher Steven Jackson work. Chris Dickerson hit a three-run homer in the extra half. That doesn't count in the official box score.

The secret to success of the Reds is to have aggressive hitters with a high batting average with runners in scoring position.
