I don't have the lineup....I miss C.Trent being down there and posting a lineup every day. Bronson Arroyo v. Backe today pitching....

However I am in Florida, and I have tickets to this one. It is also on MLB TV (internet) today.

It is raining lightly here today, and hopefully they will get this one in. Forecast calls for overcast with showers, high of 76. Still pretty nice compared to up north....

Is Cueto scheduled to pitch any today? He last pitched on Monday, meaning today would be his scheduled day to pitch.

And here's your lineup:

6 Ryan Freel ................... CF
21 Scott Hatteberg .............1B
3 Ken Griffey Jr. .............. RF
4 Brandon Phillips ............2B
44 Adam Dunn ...................LF
28 Edwin Encarnacion .......3B
62 Jerry Gil ....................... SS
9 Paul Bako ...................... C
61 Bronson Arroyo ......... RHP

that's the best 1-6 I've seen from the Reds this spring

reds44
03-22-2008, 12:18 PM
It seems like 3-4-5-6 in lineup are set with Griffey, Phillips, Dunn, and Edwin. We pretty much know whoever plays CF (most likely Patterson) will be leading off. The catcher will bat 8th. So that leaves the 2nd and 7th spots up for grabs. You would figure when Keppinger plays SS he bats 2nd.

Concensus opinion is that batting order makes very little difference.

But for the hitters there's got to be the comfort factor for a set lineup.

At least Edwin comes to the park knowing he's hitting behind Dunn, who knows he's behind Phillips, who knows he's after Griffey.

So with Arroyo pitching today, the rotation should line up:
Today: Arroyo
Sunday: Cueto
Monday (FSN): Fogg
Tuesday: Volquez
Wednesday: Harang
Thursday: Arroyo
Friday: Cueto
Saturday: Fogg
Sunday: Volquez

Opening Day: Harang
off day
4/2: Arroyo
4/3: Cueto
4/4: Fogg
4/5: Volquez

That could change if the Reds choose to skip the 5th spot in the rotation to keep Harang on regular rest.
