The only person on that list that is truly deserving is Valentin. Griffey and Hatte are well into their thirties. You can't expect them to run like Jose Reyes. Griffey still plays a very good right field, and Dunn is a football player in a baseball uniform (and he is pretty good IMO). As far as Hatte goes, what do you want him to do? Just because he doesn't run out a third strike drop, that makes him unathletic. Think before you post, don't just start a thread on an impulse. These guys are professional baseball players, I'm sure if fat guys who are unathletic could play, Mo Vaughn would still have a job.

I was reading in a book that tried to describe just how slow he was. If you took the slowest player in the game today, at the time of the book it was Mo Vaughn, and had Lombardi race him around the bases 3 times - Vaughn would probably lap him.

That gave me a laugh.

This post reminds me of that chapter in Moneyball, when Beane was getting grief from his scouts for wanting to draft a guy with man boobs.
