With Chris Henry being released, Chad making news, and TJ's play called into question, I think wideout will be addressed in the draft or free agency, whether it is on day one or not.

Malcolm Kelly has fallen in some mocks all the way down to the late second round. He is a tall receiver and could be used to replace Chris Henry in the offense. Earl Bennett from Vanderbilt is another receiver in the second we could target.

Jordy Nelson is another receiver from Kansas State that could possibly be had in the third round.

Two first round talents I like are Limas Sweed and James Hardy, but taking them at 9 would be a reach and we have enough holes to fill as is.

Not sure who is available via FA, but these are receivers I like in the draft. Anybody else have somebody they like?

I like any receiver taken after the 2nd round.

I can't think of a single great QB who failed because of insufficient skill at WR. Focus on getting a good line on both sides of the ball and we'll go from there. Take a WR in the 3rd round or later if you need to, but don't overpay.

Any receiver that will just do his job and not complain or get in trouble.

Look at how much better the Patriots were last year with upgrades at receiver. Tom Brady went from a great QB to a record setting one and the team was nearly unstoppable.

Agreed.

This is a weak draft for WR, IMO, and with the Bengals picking @ 9, it would be a waste to take a WR @ 9 based on the talent pool.

The 3rd round is the absolutely earliest I'd want the Bengals to take a WR.

Huh?

Care to elaborate on that?

TJ takes advantage of the Chad double teams, so basically, good for him. I am a Bengals fan, but he is probably one of the more overrated receivers we have. If Chad were traded and some new unproven receivers were brought in, I don't think TJ could hold up.

On draft day I would like to see us possibly trade down if Sedrick Ellis or Glenn Dorsey do not fall to us. A team like Washington that has multiple draft picks might be enticed to move up for a first as well as extra picks. Just an idea.

Wonder if the Bengals would settle for Derrick Harvey if the "top targets" were gone?

I would try and trade down if the top targets are gone.
