Harang: 1-3, a 2.76 ERA, 42 1/3 IP, 34 hits, 8 bb, 37 so.
Cueto: 1-2, a 4. 05 ERA, 33 1/3 IP, 24 hits, 5 bb, 31 so.
Volquez: 4-0, 1.23 ERA, 29 1/3 IP, 20 hits, 16 walks, 33 so.
All 3 are pitching well, and should be getting most of the starts. They are allowing less than 1 hit an inning, and are keeping their team in ballgames. Now for the horror show.
Fogg:1-2, a 10.80 ERA, 15 IP, 19 hits, 5 walks, 13 so.
Arroyo: 0-3, a 7.56 ERA, 25 IP, 37 hits, 9 walks, 23 so.
Belisle: 1-1, a 9.00 ERA, 9 IP, 17 hits, 2 bb, 5 so
All 3 are giving up more than 1 hit an inning, and are being hit hard. Arroyo and Belisle should be be at the back of the rotation to minimize the damage they will do to the team. They still are capable of turning things around, but for now Arroyo and Belisle should be the #4 and #5 starters. I would actually have Arroyo as the #5 starter and skip him several times,if he can't show enough improvement.
In conclusion, our starting pitching is better than it was last year, but there is still room for improvement.
